The British "Oscars" took place this past saturday.
They're not terribly exciting awards, being British as you'd expect they are very formal and official and proper.
The Aviator only picked up 4 of it's 11 nominations, but Brits hardly have the ingrained love for Scorsese that the US has, so expect a big change in that result at the Oscars. Also a surprise was the lack of awards for prime Oscar-bait Closer with Clive Owen being the only one to receive an award in it's two nominations. Nice to see Collateral pick up a gong for some beautiful work in Cinematography. And before anyone asks, Monster was a 2004 release in the UK, hence it's eligibility for Best Actress.
I've included a list of the nominees as well so you can all argue over what "should've won".
