So I guess Will Smith is done doing, you know, new things now? Earlier today Men in Black 3 was announced with both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones on board and now Will could be re-teaming with Martin Lawrence for Bad Boys 3.

Talking to MTV Lawrence revealed that a third film is a realistic possibility. Says Martin, “We’ve talked about Bad Boys 3.” Lawrence says Bad Boys director Michael Bay is on board and that they’re just waiting on producer “Jerry Bruckheimer to let us know when it's really real.”

Back in 1995 the first Bad Boys was the epitome of cool. Will Smith’s career was still new and Martin Lawrence was still widely regarded as funny. When they came back for Bad Boys 2 in 2003 it made a lot of money, but everyone seemed to agree that the Lawrence/Smith pairing had lost a lot of its luster. Bad Boys seems like an idea that’s now wildly out of date, not that it matters. Will Smith movies don’t have to be good, they just have to have Will Smith.
