Exclusive: Spider-Man 4 Villain Revealed? Spider-Man 3 is still a couple of months away, but it’s starting to look like Sony is already hard at work on plotting Spider-Man 4. In fact, they may already be talking about who will be the film’s big villain. According to one of our more reliable sources, the guy that’s getting the most consideration is a newer Spider-Man enemy named Morlun.

Till now most of Spidey’s enemies in the films have been more well traveled, classic faces from his extensive rogues gallery, but Morlun is relatively new to Peter Parker’s universe. Co-created by ‘Babylon 5’ godfather J. Michael Straczynski, Morlun first appeared in “Amazing Spider-Man” comics in 2001. Here’s how Marvel describes him: “Morlun is a vampiric being who has walked the earth for centuries. He feeds on the totems-- the core power sources of the universe. While he can feed on lesser sources such as humans and super humans, he requires a pure source to fully satiate his hunger.”

If this is really the direction they’re thinking of going for the fourth movie, it’s a serious departure from the previous three films. Battling Morlun sounds like they’d be skating on the edge of getting Spidey involved with magic, something that Raimi’s films have shied away from.

But then we don’t know if Raimi will be back, do we? Our inside source has the scoop on that as well. Apparently it’s not as much of a foregone conclusion that Spider-Man 3 will be the last movie for Raimi, Maguire, and Dunst as some think. Despite statements to the contrary, word is that the cast and crew is still undecided about whether or not to return. Unfortunately, of the big three the one that’s now most open to returning is Kirsten, who seems to be waiting around to see what Sam Raimi does. Apparently it’s not just about whether or not Raimi wants to come back, Sony isn’t sure whether or not they actually want him.

If Raimi is out, taking the franchise on a sharp left turn and using a radically different villain like Morlun might make sense. As long as you’re changing out the cast and crew, why not fiddle with the tone of the series as well?

For now, please remember to take all of the above only as unsupported rumor and conjecture. Our source has proven reliable in the past, but nothing is certain until Sony says it is.

    While I like Morlun, and JMS's controversial run on Spiderman ... the character is all wrong for the Spidey movies, which are grounded in science. Spiderman has plenty of classic villains to draw on .... um, although he may be running out of classic storylines. "Kraven's Last Hunt" for Spiderman 4, anyone?

    Enough with the vampiric villains in Marvel Comics movies, and otherwise. We've seen enough vampires in the last few years to last us all. Blade 1-3, Underworld 1&2, Van Helsing and even Blood and Chocolate. All I could imagine was some crummy vampire subplot that skimps on the spirit of Spider-Man and moves the series into a darkness that it would not be able to recover from. Bring on any of the Sinister Six, Mysterio, or anyone but "yet another vampire" in a comic book movie.

    I sure hope not...I love JMS' writing and while I have my problems with "The Other" and Morlin, I thought it was a daring storyline and enjoyed reading it. However, for them to jump into that realm just seems like a bad idea. They've got a pretty good franchise going. They've been building toward The Lizard for three films, so why not let him run wild? Add in a Rhino or Shocker to give more action and you've got Spidy 4.

    As far as Kraven's Last Hunt goes, it'd be awesome for fanboys like myself, but a Spidy movie where the title character spends the majority of the movie buried alive? Doesn't seem like it'd have mass appeal.

    For the Direct-to-dvd animated market? hell yea. for the cartoon series, even, yea. Feature film? I doubt it. I'd go see it, though...

    It's been great the way the movies have been heading but maybe it might be to early to bring in that villan. Why not do something with the series they have completed a great trilogy. Which seems to be hard to do in Hollywood. But why not step it up a notch why not do cross-overs they are comic book movies. Are they not? Why not bring in the Punisher or the Fanatsic Four in and make it an even bigger roller coaster ride. Just my opinion.

    If you want a vampire, you have to go with Morbius, the Living Vampire. Kraven, Mysterio, Rhino, Hydro-Man, Black Cat, Hammerhead, The Vulture, Manwolf, the Lizard, Carnage, Scorpion, hell even the Ringmaster and the Carnival of Crime would fit the tone of the movies better.

    There are so many GREAT Spidey villians, why bring in one that most fans have never heard of? I know Venom is fairly new, but come on! I would love to see Electro, The Lizard, Mysterio (one of my favorites), Rhino and all of the Sinister Six. As my grandma always said, "If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it". Keep up the AWESOME work Sam!!

    I don't believe how Amazing Spider-man is supposed to be good. It's seriously awful in every aspect. JMS has changed Spider-man in everyway, yet makes everything completely worthless because he can't follow through with anything and just writes three characters into the book just talking about it. I find it hard to believe he ever read Spider-man before as he can't seem to write more than two pages with JJJameson, Robie Robertson, nor even Betty Brant in it. He can't even take time to ask the stupid editor what Aunt May's last name is even though all the SPider-fans know it's REILLY!

    It's the most pathetic piece of garbage I've ever read. And if you think I'm being mean, well I'm not even angry yet. MOrlun? ARe you serious?

    I like the idea of having The Lizard in it and the best storyline could be something about The Lizard terrorizing NY and Spidey's trying to stop him while not hurting him. Kraven could turn up as a hunter for hire/world champion hunter searching for the greatest trophy. It could somehow appear that Kraven has stopped Lizard and Jameson could hire him to capture Spider-Man/or he could simply decide Spider-Man is a beast and would make a good trophy.
    My only problem is that Kraven probabaly would not be as interesting to watch on-screen as previous movie villains have been.
    The only villains I would actually like to see in any further movies would be The Lizard and Mysterio.

    This move,may be what brings down the Spider-Man movie franchise.Dealing with classic villains is guranteed success,but going with a character this new?Im not going to waste money on this.What`s to say others wont either?

    I would call this a HUGE reversal,somethings movie viewers would not expect.This is not a good thing.Personally i think Mysterio or Kraven the Hunter should be the villain,those are classic villains who could really use the exposure.

    I think having Morlun as a villain is a great idea. It'll be something new for the spider-man franchise. I like the whole 'been walking the earth for thousands of years' thing. I like it alot and you guys are being really corny by saying it isn't a good idea... have an imagination!! It'll be even better if you brung Black Cat into one of the next 3 films... that'll be awesome!!!

    but as i am a true spidey fan i see how you would like to see mysterio so i think spidey 5 should have mysterio, kraven and rhino. as for spidey 6 im think ultimate 3 way showdown, spider-man vs. venom vs. carnage. YEA BABY!!!!

    I agree with everyone that says bringing in a new character like Morlun is a bad idea. Dr. Connors has been in all three films and it is inevitable that he become the Lizard in the near future - i.e. Spider-Man 4 - at least, that is the direction they should go in. I also really like the idea of having the Sinister Six which could be the basis of Spidey 5.

    i think that they shood deffinatley press on with a new spiderman film. they r such big sucesses...and the only reason not to is because if the film ends up being sucky they feel tht spiderman's image will be ruined? i think people would care more about having a new film then ruining spidermans ego...which i doubt it could be for the first 3 r amazing in everyway(havent seen the third but duh its gonna rock). all im saying is tht it would be dumb to drop something and disappoint so many fans...and not to mention tht if they dont dont tht in like 6 years some other company will make a crap sequel and ruin it anyways. no one could ever ruin spidermans image..so go ahead sony do ur worst making a fourth one.

    now on to my ideas for villains...personally i think tht the black tarantula is great but im sure after the third film they wont want anymore black lol. but everyone can agree tht the best villain and most feared by spiderman was carnage. he was basically a spawn of venom but much more deadly with the ability to stop spidermans spidersenses. but after venom in the third i doubt thye will want to debut him into the films as well. how about the kingpin? this would put a mob twist to the series and might be the twist they need in a fourth film...although kingpin does use many other villains to acomplish his evil..so u would need about 5 more villains whihc would be corny. deffinatley would be better than a gay vampire and magic..honestly i know tht morbius would ruin a film. so altogether i thnik tht the only villian tht would work would be either jackal..being he was such a good foe. or mysterio who is by far the most well known.(u kno the guy with the big space helmet on his head.)

    I think having a vampire in the spidy series would totally ruin the whole them all..instead of a vampire I think they should have Carnage come in, seeing how 3 will be about the Venom suit...right after it leaves peter Parker and goes to Brock, they should tell the story about Carnage right after it.

    And then maybe the Carnage and venom will meet and have one big Clash...something like the fight between Van Helsing and Dracula in the van helsing movie, that would be kickass, but instead of a small 5 minute fight maybe 10 minbutes.
    The whole Vampire thing is totaly stupid and they probably have spidy be changed into something else... so stupid.

    The problem with the lizard is he's just a mindless killer with very little dialog. So havin a smart villain like Kingpin or Carnage would help carry the movies plot. But don't get me wrong I think the Lizard kicks ass.

    I think the problem with Morlun is not the character itself, more the way it'll be portrayed in a movie. Same with Morbius. I think the Lizard should deffo be in Spiderman 4, with maybe Scorpion and Kingpin as well. And a cameo of Cletus Cassidy being captured by spidey for the cops.

    trust me morlun will not be in a spider man film. this is like the time when they said carmeleon was going to be in the third one remember. Personnaly i think the lizard,scorpion and kraven should be in the 4th film. Kraven should be hunting lizard and scorpion would be in the film for spiderman to fight in the meantime also spiderman should be trying to help the lizard. kraven should almost kill the lizard but spiderman intervines and defeats kraven in a great fight scene. Then to finish it all spiderman and lizard should go at it.

    i would like to see the movies build up to the 6th one being the SINISTER 6. how appropiate would that be. I remember watching the cartoon and i would like to see a movie where he starts turning into more of a spider and losing all control. I would think this would be good as a side plot. If i remember right, he was fighting carnage when this was happening in the cartoon. I think that kingpin should have at least a small appearance in one of the movies. i dont know where he would place but it would be nice. Mysterio, rhyno, carnage, venom, and the other classic would be nice to see. I agree with what the others said about the lizard. He needs to be in the next film. He has been in the past movies so he needs to in. I would also like to see Hobgoblin. I dont think he is enough to be the main villian but would be an alright side villian. I think that venom and the lizard are actually going to be in the 4th. The vampire idea is a really bad idea. keep to the classics. Peter has plenty of problems to continue the plot with the classic characters. There is no need to add magic into this. Science experiments are plenty enough.

    Actually it's been announced that Dr. Conners is in 3. He is being played by Dylan Baker. Bruce Cambell will also make a cameo, it is rumored that he will either play Mysterio in a "movie" in the movie. Or will be in the next as Mysterio. The fight with Venom is also rumored not to end in 3, so will continue to 4.

    As for my picks for the next few IF they happen (McGuire, Dunst, and Raimi are talking about taking a hike, Dunst is the only one talking about staying on if she can) would be Rhino, cause it's a small part that can be played by LOTS of big dudes, Vulture cause Patrick Stewart is old and bald, and maybe Scorpion cause it's another small role that can be played by a lot of smartass people

    It wouldnt mke sence for there to be a vampire villain. If it was Batman that would be different. And if there is going to be a Spider-Man 4, it would need to have Lizard and Carnage, vs. Spidey and Venom.

    Venom should be the villian in Spiderman 4. The character has such a large backround that the movie can even go as far as bringing in Carnage as well. This would go well with the previous Spidey movies. Morlun just seems too much of a "magical or fantasy" character. It will really draw away alot of the fn base because of two reasons, he is too new, and isnt that realistic. Having a character who has "walked the earth for centuries" just seems too corny and also sounds like your everyday Vampire movie. Nothing special about it. Venom stays along the previously set scientific story line. Bringing the Lizard into this movie would also do good being that Dr. Connors has been seen a few times and will now play a big role in discovering the origin and nature of Spidey's new black suit. In all honesty Morlun is a bad idea. Go with Venom, Carnage and Lizard. It makes the most sense with the Spiderman timeline and the major fan base.

    I think the best chance is to introduce 2 of d sinister 6 (scorpion and electro) against Spidey and Black Cat and at the end of the movie (near to credits) peter reads an article.."The crocodiles of central park zoo been eaten...a strange black spiderman has been seen around the zone "to confirm venom's return in d 5 movie....that should be great, cause veom's the most evil villain( best) in Spiderman gallery and is cool to keep it alive and not to explode it...

    Spider-Man is my favorite super hero. Just a few moments ago I thought "whatever the next movies about I can't wait to see it!" but when I saw the name Morlun, I felt this huge sense of disappointment. I'm not saying never do Morlun, but there are so many others that should come before him it is a disservice to skip them. Already, I would say Venom is a jump, an understandable jump, but a jump none the less. So I echo those others who have suggested, Lizard, Kraven, Electro, Mysterio, Vulture, Rhino, and yes Morbius before Morlun. I would like to add to the list, the Jackal (though let's not go clone crazy!), and if they want to go a different direction what about a Chameleon, Sin Eater, give us a psychological thriller type Spider-Man story, I think part of the reason a lot of us like Spidey wasn't always having bigger and bigger battles with villains that would nearly kill him. Some times they'd be simple but just manage to stay one step ahead. Then with a calm before the storm like that they could wow us with some big battle in the next film!

    VENOM and the THE LIZARD. You started with the symbiote in part 3.
    Don't leave us hang'n.......... Spidey 5 would be perfect to bring out Carnage,

    I agree with a lot of the other people here that Spiderman 4 should go with the development of Dr Kurt Conners ( The Lizard ) as the next enemy/bad guy. This seems the most natural progression. What about Rhino, or even Hydro-Man? With the quality of todays CGI, the film-makers could really pull of a great villain. The most important thing is to get Sam Raimi back on board as the director of Spiderman 4. Remember the damage that was done with X-Men 3 with a new director (Brett Ratner). Ho and indeed Hum!

    I agree with Lizard. And in spiderman 3 there are three villains, why not this time have two villains working together? Maybe shocker and Lizard? Shocker and someone else. really want shocker to be in the fourth spiderman. If you are reading this please add another comment and add a partner for shocker.     I'm not sure about shocker but I'd defintley would'nt want carnage in any spidey film because he's too violent for a pg-13 movie and sam would'nt make a spidey movie that kids could'nt see.

    Ok, so anyone who knows even the simplest version of the Spider-Man story and what has been going on in the movies, there are only 3 clear options for the possible 4th movie......Carnage, who is a spawn of Venom, Venom, who should not be killed off in one movie (the 3rd) and Lizard (Curt Connors will have been in the 2nd and 3rd movies). And even though the Lizard isn't that deep of a character due to lack of intelligent, frequent dialogue, he could be given a smaller part, sort of a "less important issue" that Spider-Man would have to deal with whereas the "big issue(s)" would obviously be Carnage wreaking havok throughout the city, and it would also make sense to have Spider-Man ask Venom to team with him against Carnage (which DID happen in the comics). This is the only way that the 4th movie would work without totally destroying the story. Some other characters would be sweet to have (rhino, shocker, scopion, vulture), and some would be super boring (black cat, kraven, but none of these which are appropriate to the timeline.

    Well, it seems another possible character comes into mind.....The Green Goblin Jr (Harry). Will Spider-Man kill him in the 3rd, will he disappear for a while, and will they allow him back for the 4th? If accuracy to the comic storyline is the idea, then Harry still need to be around as The Green Goblin, because he is one of Spider-Man's most important and famously known enemies.

    If a 4th one comes out, I'm just saying it better be done right.

    well i say no vampires for sure. they should have spidey start to hange into the human spider as he follows the lizard around to try to help him. Add a side small villian like vulture who is around when spidey changes. Stage the fifth movie for mysterio and the return of the symbiot. And the sixth as the carnage venom spidey showdown. That would make a killer trio of movies!!

    Thank you for those smart people out there who actually realize the fact that if you put any thing more than two simple villains in the next movie it will cost about 5million dollars or so just to do the SFX, and for the retards out there you r F-ing messed up in the head if you think that they can afford to have three different people to be hired for the places of the shocker, mysterio, and the lizard in the same f-ing movie, besides the fact that they don't even think that Tobey or Dunst will be in the fourth one to begin with you f-ing bafoons.

    I don't know who the f**k Morlun is, but if they're gonna' bring a vampire in they might as well bring in friggin' Blade to help Spidey out and then we could have a messed-up, f**ked up film that's probably going to be directed by some new guy and Spidey's gonna' be played by some new guy too.....

    And sorry to say fellas.....*SPOILER WARNING*.....

    I don't think Venom's gonna make it to Spidey 4....not after what I saw in Spider-man 3. You'll have to watch it to know it...I can't risk spoiling the utter dissapointment for you!

    Whether or not Carnage or Venom for that matter will appear in the fourth film depends on the fate of Venom/Eddie Brock (and the symbiote itself) at the end of the third film. I was totally surprised they have set a date for the fourth film anyway. But in all honesty the best villains to bring into the fourth film if Venom doesn't make it are Mysterio or the Shocker. Simple bady guys who are basically just thieves who have their own unique powers. Shocker is an underrated villain who appears throughout the comics and cartoon series.

    However if I'm honest I want to see Carnage, who by far is the most evil of all Spiderman villains. In the storyline most of Spidermans enemies/villains have a vendetta against him or have domination of sorts in their mind. Carnage (Cletus Kasady) is a serial killer, totally different character and agenda (which of course is killing people. But you need a versatile actor to play him. I think you would get the biggest villain ever to appear on screen and I believe that Sam Raimi and the producers would be insane if they passed up the opportunity to have him in one of the movies.

    If a vampire appears in Spiderman I think a lot of Spidey fans will be very disappointed, as it's a story that has been done to death in the movies. Besides Michael Morbius would require a lot of work and it's a long drawn out storyline, plus you would need his love interest Felicia Hardy (the black cat) to be involved at some point. Morlun is a really bad idea, and it would make for a lot of bad reviews, disappointed fans, and a load of film critics saying 'not another vampire villain'.

    Vampires suck.......I think that they should bring in lizzard, scorpion, and Rhino, then when spidy cant beat them, JJJameson will hire a hunter that is looking for the ultimate prize. spidy wants to get to the villians frist so that the hunter dosent kill them, and once the three villans are gone an amazing twist happens. (like the hunter turns into Carnage)

    Since seeing Dr Connors in Spidey 2, I have been waiting to see the Lizard. I think that will be more likely, as in every spidey film, the role of Dr Connors progresses to a larger role. They could do so much with that.

    Lots of good ideas here, but I would truely love to see Spider-man bump into some of the other heros from the Marvel Universe, as in the comics. Such as, but not limited to: Daredevil, Torch and The Thing, The Avengers, or X-Men (or any one of them!) even if just a cameo, like back in the day. It's fun to dream, eh?

    I think that Scorpion should be a villian, but not the main one. The main villian should be Morlun. Then Morlun should almost kill spider-man but Scorpion kills Morlun because he wants to be the one that kills "New Yorks' hero." Spider-man. Then a third villian should show up, and it is Doc Oc who is suppose to b dead but actually lived! The only thing is, is he has trouble choosing weather or not to kill spider-man while he still can. Then in the end it ends with Doc Oc choosing wheather or not to kill him leading it into spider man 5!

    The only villians who could possibly fit would be the lizard and manwolf (as they have already been introduced without their powers). Carnage and Jakal/Kaine would also work, though the clone saga might be too convoluted for a movie. My money is on a "beast within" theame featuring the lizard, manwolf and the whoel spidy transforming into a spider arc (keeping with the theme deal like the revenge theme in spidy 3).

    Try this ... since there are deffinitely going to be sequels after spider man 3 (with or without Toby) why not introduce Lizard, Mysterio, Scorpion, or Shocker in 4 (as a minor villian, at the same time keeping it basic w/o all the magic jumbo).

    In 5 have the Rhino terrorize NY and overpower spiderman to a evolve him into the 6 armed spider man (who morphs due to overuse of his powers).

    In 6 bring back the symbiote (Venom, with a vengeance) who shreds up NY until he spawns Carnage who in turn whoops Spidey and Venom individually inducing them to team up for a final showdown. I say go all out budget wise, hiring appropirate actors (a larger guy for Rhino and a ginger phyco for Carnage, etc.) and ignore SFX usage, by 2009 I believe it will be out the roof visually anyway.

    I hope the origninal actors will return by all means, but its just not looking to promising.

    Come on, what kind of villian is morlun? the last thing we want is bringing in a vampire want-a-be crushing the storyline for spidey fans everywhere. If anyone, it should be mysterio, lizard, rhino, vulture, ELECTRO, scorpion, or even kraven. We want to keep the storyline original and funny just like in the classic spiderman series, the ones our parents use to watch when they were kids. don't through in carnage or black cat, they just make the storythat much more fake. he should go on fighting classic, major villians not the stupid new ones like MORLUN. if use ask me that's bull. keep it simple, and oh yha, make sure S4 has more action than S3 because it totally lacked on it. it focused mainly on peter, mj, and harry, not as much on the action. The biggest villians of all time should meet in manhaten and have a huge fight between them then they all stop and join an alliance to take down spiderman. possibly captain america could help spiderman due to the fact he hasn't starred in a movie and he is from america. also sandman should come back to aid.

    In Spiderman 3 you see that goblins son harry osborn had one of the goblins booms thrown directly at his face and blow up in his face and he survived with a scar. how come venom couldn't survive it?
    I think that in the next flim there will be a new spiderman, new director, and actors. For the story line venom comes back. carnage comes into the story. Peters professor connors will be make something to grow his arm back using the symbiote making the lizard and some how altering the symbiote making carnage. Pulling in these three badguys venom, carnage, and the lizard making the best spiderman 4 movie to add on to the spidy franchises.

They failed with spider man 3 by putting in Venom so early. Carnage is only ever going go come to life in the movies if Venom is alive and venom is dead. So all are hopes lye in that little piece of venom that Dr. Conners still has. Venom could return hopefully in the 5th movie. The 4th movie should be the sinister six.     The odds of Venom returning are not good. Not only was Venom burnt to a crisp, his primary host, Eddie Brock, was vaporized. Did you not see his skeleton at the last second? They'd have to regenerate Venom (probably from the doctor's sample) and give him a different host... and THEN bring in Carnage.

    I disagree with Morlun completely, but I have an idea for a second Spider-Man mvie trilogy. It's kinda long, but I made it as short as possible. Let me know what ya think, folks:

    SPIDER-MAN 4
    During experimentation, Dr. Connors endures the infamous accident and becomes the Lizard. He runs rampant through the sewers, and Spidey tries to stop him. Eventually, Spider-Man dicovers who Lizard actually is, and the quest becomes much more personal (he does not wish to harm his teacher).
    The Lizard's transformation destroys his entire lab, causing a small flux of neogenic energy to spread through New York. At the same time, a criminal named Maxwell Dillon (played by Edward Norton?) is about to be executed via electric chair when, during the process, he is hit wth the neogenic wave and transforms into Electro.
    Electro would be the main villain, with Lizard being a secondary threat, more involved with Peter Parker's storyline than with Spidey's. Now, when Lizard's lab is destroyed, it also sets free the small piece of symbiote he had with him during Spider-Man 3. That freed symbiote finds its way to a prison, where Eddie Brock (Topher Grace) is being locked up for his crimes as Venom. The two reunite, and escape, as Brock's cellmate Cletus Kasady (Jim Carrey?) gazes in awe at the tiny, black seedling the symbiote has left behind. Movie ends.

    SPIDER-MAN 5
    Venom is back in New York, angrier than ever. This movie will contain all of the fantastic Venom vs. Spidey action that unfortunately could not fit into Spider-Man 3. We'll see Brock torment Peter Parker's life, threatening MJ, Aunt May, Jameson and others close to him.
    Aside from Venom, a new character will appear. After the death of both Osborns, their estate goes up for sale, and is purchased by millionaire industrialist Jason Macendale (Clive Owen? Paul Rudd?). Jason also happens to be engaged to MJ's girlfriend, Felicia Hardy (Jessica Biel?), who is in town to attend Peter & MJ's wedding. When Jason discovers Osborn's remaining serum and weaponry, curiosity gets the better of him. He ingests the serum, and takes up the mantle of the Hobgoblin.
    Spidey must deal with the tortures of Venom, and at the same time keep his new friend Felicia out of danger from her now-psychotic fiancee Jason. In the end, Venom teams up with Spidey to put an end to Hobgoblin, but then Venom is suddenly captured by an unknown assailant. The assailant turns out to work for The Kingpin (Michael Clarke Duncan), who has formed his own shaky alliance with "another symbiote" who we don't see.
    Spidey decides (reluctantly) that it is his respnsibility to rescue Venom and save the city from Kingpin and his "other symbiote", and as he sets off he hears someone calling him, saying he'll need help. Spidey turns to see Daredevil (Ben Affleck) crouched upon the rooftop nearby. Movie ends.

    SPIDER-MAN 6
    Spidey and Daredevil, now a team, manage to sneak into one of Kingpin's many underground bases. In an intense opening sequence, they battle their way through several guards and eventually one very pissed-off Rhino (actor unknown) to save Venom.
    Although Venom is safe, New York is still in danger. Kingpin finally unveils his ally: Carnage, the deadly, psychotic symbiote killing machine. It is now up to the three allies to defeat Kingpin and Carnage, but that is no easy task. Venom wants to kill Carnage outright, but Spidey argues with his sense of morality, and the two begin to clash amongst themselves.
    It would be a great story for Spidey because it really is the ultimate test of power and responsibility. Can he bring himself to kill Carnage, to take a life himself? His conflicts with himself and Venom, while not always physical, would be as great as his battles against Carnage or Kingpin.
    In the end, Daredevil defeats Kingpin again. Spider-Man, Venom and Carnage finish it off with a massive three-for-all battle. When Venom knocks Carnage into a power generator, the resulting explosion supposedly spells the end for the two symbiotes (but who can say for sure?). New York is safe. Peter and MJ finally get married, and...well, the rest is history. Movie ends.

    Whew! Sorry about the length! Well, I'm curious to hear what everyone thinks (hopefully, Sam aimi himself might read this board and get some ideas!). Agree? Disagree? Please let me know!

    In my opinion, I think they should bring in Carnage, and then a few of the more classic villians (Scorpion, Lizard, Man-Wolf, Mysterio, Rhino, Shocker, Kingpin, etc.) Raimi already has mentioned Dr. Conners, AKA the Lizard. And the Man-Wolf is John Jameson from Spider-Man 2. Plus they still have part of Venom (in Dr. Conner's lab) at the end of the 3rd movie, so neither Venom nor Carnage is out of the question. And although intertwining Marvel superheros is good, I just don't think it would work. We'll find out in Fantastic Four I guess (seeing as how the Silver Surfer is in it).

    What would probably be best (in my opinion) is:

    Spider-man + doc ock? and/or venom vs. carnage, lizard, man-wolf, and one or more of the more classic villians... mysterio, scorpion, rhino, shocker, etc.

    Just a thought.

    All of you people have got it wrong. Villains that have appaered in the video games such as rhino, shocker, vulture, and mysterio you cant yous. The lizard im sorry you cant do it. he appeared in the Spiderman 3 video game. My choice is Carnage, Venom, Man-Wolf, and Kraven the Hunter. I know Kraven is dumb but think about it. John Jameson gets bit by a wolf and turns into Man-Wolf. Spider-man battles him but Kraven the hunter kills Man-Wolf. J. Jona Jameson blames spider-man for his sons death and hires Kraven to kill him. Meanwhile Spider-man stops Kledus Casidy and puts him in jail. I know Brock didint survive but say the surviving symbiot tuned the ashes of Brock into Venom Again and Kledus gets the offspring and turns into Carnage. It would be awesome mabey even Kraven could get eaten by Carnage and Venom Fighting him later on. That would proboly end with Aunt May finding out Peter is Spider-Man.

    I thought Spiderman 3 was the best one of the series by far, but I am a little disappointed if in fact Venom does die. I think he has the most potential and obviously with Carnage it could set up for a more satisfying ending. As for the villains, I think the only real important ones are Lizard because he's Peter's professor and Carnage who is the most evil villain of them all.

    I think it would be great if they put carnage in film 4, seeing as Dr Connors still has a bit of the symbiote in his lab. Lizard is obviously gonna be in it cos Dr Connors has been in the movies for quite some time now. Craven will probably appear to hunt down lizard and spidey will try to protect him. The scorpion could appear in it, like he could be paid a lot of money to wear the suit and try to find out who spidey is, then it could go horribly wrong and scorpion would want revenge etc etc. And what happened to venom?! He is a really popular enemy and what do they do? Put him in movie 3 for the last 3rd of the film and then kill him off! It is really stupid, I mean, he is a really strong guy! Morlan isn't a very good idea, why not Morbius instead. In fact, i dont even know his Morlan is!

    Lizard needs to be in this one. I don't think they should go on any tangents with the Clone Saga or Morbeus or anything. I really don't think any of that would work well in a movie, and seems to be a major departure from what they've done in the past. I personally think that it would be a great idea to include the Hobgoblin, since it adds on to the Osborn plot, although any of the classic villains (i.e. Rhino, the Scorpion, Mysterio, less likely the Vulture, etc.) would be great candidates as well. Heck, why not group together the Hobgoblin, the Lizard and the Vulture in this one? They seem to fit together pretty well (Dr. Connors=close friend, Vulture=kidnaps Aunt May, the Hobgoblin=raids Harry Osborn's house) As for Morlan -- what he h-e-double hockeysticks?! He is WAY too new, and he would qualify as "going off on a tangent"

    I agree with Gandalf and some of the peps to a certain degree. ..First of all, if there's 3 slots to fill in SM4, it shall be Carnage and The Lizard. For Carnage, the Symbiote Dr. Conners kept has left room for Carnage and a excellent storyline and as for Dr. Conners a.k.a Dylan Baker...well, it's his time to be a star. Because as we all watch SM3, there was a stuff lizard in the background when Evil Parker was talking to Dr. Conners about the Symbiote. As for the 3rd slot, it's hard to say when we have those two main characters, but Hobogoblin should be a Cliff hanger in SM4. It's all to complicated when you think about the time and how long to film the movie. Im sure if Sam Raimi wants to cont. filming, he wants to take 2 years for SM4 and SM5 to film and for SM6, 3 years to film for the Grand Finale. If you ask me, my two-sense seems more reasonable then other bs people are trying to feed us. Lets hope Tobey and Kirsten wants to stay in the triology.

    i think it should be lizard and carnage for sure....and in this movie spiderman should do something to piss of jamason even more which causes him to help make scorpian in the 5th one (which should also involve the Black Cat and Kryvan), and the 6th should be with Mysterio, Shocker, Vulture, Rhino, and either Electro or hydroman with them. in the sixth they should be lead by Kingpin who finally is put into the spiderman movies, cuz were has he been?

    The vampire would be simply stupid! he has absolutely no point and there is no way they can make the whole of the films a block, if they squash in a magical fantasy. even if they create the vampire in a scientific way like sandman. speaking of sandman we dont yet know what happens to the pile of sand.

    i personely like lizard. Conners was seen in the last 3 films what the hell are they waiting for to include some scales! Mysterio would also be cool a very popular charector who manages to kidnapp MJ. if Mysterio is included i wouldd end the fourth film with MJ lost and peter in despair. AND PEOPLE WE'RE FORGETING THE SMART VILLIAN, CAMELEAN!!!!!!!!! or however you spell the shape shifter

    I think that in Spiderman 4, the villains should be Carnage and Venom(Scorpion). A way that they could bring in Carnage is by the piece of symbiote that Dr. Connors had in his lab. The second way is by using the piece of symbiote that Spiderman rips off in the ending battle of the third movie. If you were paying attention, you could see that in one scene when he and Venom are fighting and falling at the same time, a piece of the symbiote gets on Spiderman's chest, but he rips it off and you don't see anything else about it. This symbiote could change into the Carnage one due to its environment of being on Earth, while the symbiote that Dr. Connors has could be the Venom one, since it is in a controlled environment and is not being introduced to any new environment. Since Eddie Brock died, they couldn't put him as Venom, but in the comic books, the suit gets on to the Scorpion and creates a Venom again, but he is not the exactly the same in appearance as the Eddie Brock one. If they do not do this, I think it would be better for them to put the Lizard and Kraven in the 4th movie, but at around the middle of the movie make Cletus Kasidy have a cameo of Spiderman arresting him. Then near the end of the movie, they could probably include a scene of Dr. Connors looking for the symbiote specimen that he had but finds that it is gone. They could also show some stuff in his lab and computer showing stuff about lizards and their regeneration ability.At the end of the movie, they should flash back to that scene in Spiderman 3 that I was telling you about when part of the suit gets on Spiderman and show it hitting the ground then sliding away. If they do this, they could then make the opening of the 5th movie showing the Carnage symbiote crawling towards the jail that Cletus is in and also show the Venom symbiote getting on Scorpion somehow during the end of a battle that he has with Scorpion in a very public area. At the end of this battle, Spiderman has to leave immediately because he got acid from Scorpion on his mask and has to take it off, but doesn't want the numerous onlookers and cameras seeing who he is. This could set the stage for the ending battle since Scorpion is still alive. Once the symbiote attaches to Scorpion, he turns into the next Venom. He could then team up with Carnage and beat the crap out of Spidey in a couple min-battes leading to the fianl one where Spiderman ends up killing them both. If they reintroduce Venom, maybe they could make him look cooler and more bigger and more like how he is supposed to. It would be cool if when the symbiote comes of his head to reveal just his face, his agape mouth could be still seen around the chest area and have the signature long tongue and drool coming out. What do you think about that as a plot line? This would make a good story for the 5th movie, which, in my opininon, should be the last if they have a classic, grande royale battle with Spidey, Venom, and Carnage.

    Definatly need venom 2 come bak sumhow, just weren't enough of him in spiderman 3, then of course carnage, if theres got 2 be a vampire like villain should be michael morbius, sticking to the storyline of the cartoon series where he drained peoples plasm or something instead of blood, also goes with the scientific explantions as someone else here pointed out about the previous 3. If not either of them, then gotta be king pin orderin shocker, scorpian, rhino, chamelion, mysterio, to get spiderman. obviously doc oc should be there but he died in spidy 2. well hope to see some of that for the next film, n hope raimi directs it agen because when directors get changed like that usually changes the film, hope to see most of the original cast too.

    They are obviously not going to have Morlun in the next film. Morlun sucks, it would be too confusing to introduce someone whos from another world. A good idea for a story line is that the Lizard is on the loose, but spiderman can't beat him. And so the city hires Kraven to capture the lizard. Kraven does capture the Lizard, but Venom sets him free. While Venom's doing this Kraven sees him and Venom acts like hes Spiderman. Spidermans reputation drops when Kraven tells the Bugle. Venom also steals Spidermans suit from Peters apartment and commits crimes while the Lizard escapes to a Swamp. Kraven and Spiderman fight, but before Spiderman dies Venom kills Kraven and Spiderman become a hated criminal. Spiderman chases Venom to the Swamp where Venom takes control of Lizard and they both fight Spiderman and they both win. Spiderman is put in prision and Venom abadons the Lizard. Venom know commiting more crimes, Spiderman can't stop him cuz hes in prision. But the Lizard breaks him out and Spiderman goes to stop Venom. He kills Venom and the movie ends. That is a good story line and it shows Venom trying to ruin spiderman, which Eddie wanted. Better then Morlun.

    If they do this, I hate to say it, but it would end my going to see the spiderman movies. If I can say I like any superhero stuff, its spiderman. But none of this magic/undead crap. Thats why spiderman rocked. None of that really. Just a good old fashioned, cheesy hero story.

    I hope they don't do this. I think they've started to set the stage for Lizard nicely with him being in all 3 movies. At least as one of the villains. I hope Venom stays around too. I wish they hadn't 'decisively' killed him off to the point its gonna require one of those, oh his dna was still on the ground and it was fused with Brocks' and they've come back to life kind of explanation. But... anyways, point is, Morlun = gay

    Jake, your the dumbest guy i know, EVER!!!! Hobgoblin, wasn't in spiderman 3. FYI, Hobgoblin was hired by Norman Osborn in order to kill Spiderman. Then the Green Goblin died, but Harry Blamed Spider for killing him, so in the old series, he turned into the Green Goblin, NOT HOBGOBLIN! More like The New Goblin. Get your sources right buddie, *sigh*. But the Hobgoblin should be in SM5 not SM4. We already have slots open for our new villians, Carnage and The Lizard. Morlun...wont make sense going in SM4, we already have a storyline that WILL make sense. Not go into something that has a different genre.

    As for the villan I think it's pretty ovious that it's going to be that black spiderman. You saw the end of the movie and in it he destroys and burns the black thing. But there is something else going on. I mean spidy left a sample with the doctor for him to examine.

    Okay ladies, here's my down low for spiderman series

    SM4-Carnage & The Lizard- makes a load of sense, setting Dr. Conners up and Carnage.
    SM5-Mysterio & Morlun- Great combo
    SM6-Hobgoblin & Shocker- Something good, kind of doubtful on this one.
    SM7-Venom, Carnage, Green Goblin & New Goblin- You know, for the Grand Finale and bring back the old crew.

    What i really dont want to see, is Magical shit happening in Spiderman series. Just keep it CGI goodness and we'll be happy. I mean, when the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles started to involve that gay magical bj'ing crap, it pretty much lost its taste. So if Sam Raimi stays, which i hope. I'm wishig he doesnt do that vodo crap. Finally, Tobey better sign up SM4 and the rest of the series. MJ a.k.a Kirsten, i really dont care about her...rather have a better looking red head. But what im thinking about Tobey, is that he probably doesnt want to be remember as the guy in tights for the rest of his life.

    Since Spiderman 3 was a big hit of all times, reaking in over 375 million world wide...covering all expenses that include the movie itself, 268 million and merchandise crap 100 million. Which leaves them with a +8 million on still going up. im guessing by the end of this summer or sooner, Spiderman will easily get over a 1 billion. Spiderman 4 has to be a bigger hit, which involves The Lizard...because Dr. Conners has been showing in SM2 & SM3. He also agreed on being The Lizard. For Carnage, the symbiote is a DUH!!! Dr. Conners kept it in his lab, so im guessing it'll bond with Kasady turning him into the dreadful muderous Carnage. I believe thats good enough for 2 villians, but there's a possibiltie that they'll set up a cliff hanger...Mysterio maybe...or even Hobgoblin...because once the Osbornes are dead...they find all that glider crap and Hobgoblin is formed right before us.

    i think that the best thing that alot of people would love too see would be that venom returns and since in the comics venom was the reason that carnage was created then u can add carnage to the movie making it one of the best movies ever...in my opnion and probably to alot of people.....a vampire like this character would be the worst thing to do now because it has nuthing to do with spidey and venoms fight and it would be great to continue they're fight and add carnage to the mix

    Saw spiderman three, they need some definate fixes in the story line, i think a vampire villan would be cool, but i think Morlun is the wrong choice, keep it scientific and have Morbius. And dont make Morbius the only villan, try work the mutiple villan angle again but this time have a warm up villan (IE Morbius) then after spidey thinks he has every thing under control bam bring back Venom and Carnage (that pathetic little grenade was not enough to kill venom and i think topher grace playing venom as a dark hero would be kick ass) Then have Venom switch sides after a battle with Carnage and have spiderman and venom try and stop carnage and throw mary jane's and gwen stacy's lives in danger for some motivation for the web headed duo. Then from there they could spin a franchise off of Venom's good badguy thing and make a movie that is action packed, interesting, and that doesn't kill the series. DONT bring back sandman! NO more Goblins! And give Peter Parker some common sense, some actually intelligent one liners, and how about a back bone!

    im glad u asked that question peter Ok, Dr. Conners has a missing arm, his right i believe. So his trying to regrow in order to be like everyone else, so he makes a machine and puts the Lizard DNA inside the machine and his arm grows back, but with serious side-affects. Not only does his arm grow back, but he turns in this 7 foot tall Lizard that makes ruin for the city and Spiderman. Meanwhile, Cleutus Kasady, a serial Killer is in Prison, but he could be out of Prison before killing anyone. Bonds with Him...but while Dr. Conners is the Lizard, he destroys his lab with the Symbiote still in the glass or whatever is keeping it contained, gets loose. The Symbiote, has a new-born...basically his son and bonds wth Kasady forming....Carnage and trust me, if things fall into place like i said, then venom will be nothing compared to Carnage. Carnage is 10x worse, but im feeling that Eddie Brock will be back...which in return, turns himself into Venom.

    From what i confirmed, Spiderman 7 may not be the end. But thats how many movies Sony agreed for now. But for now, yes...7 films are agreed upon. I still dont know if Sam Raimi will be accepted to Direct Spiderman 4, but im hoping he still is, Because if not, then Tobey wont put his Spandix on, because he told reporters if Raimi wasnt Directing, then Tobey isnt in. Same with Kirstin, but i really dont like her acting anyways.

    your suggestions and comments have been taken into account, we have decided to scap the concept of vampires in the upcoming spiderman movies.
    All we can reveal at this time is that there will be cameos of some of the classic comic book villians, may as in clips of spiderman capturing/defeating them.
    The main villians that are going to be considered are- Venom(almost certain)
    - Carnage
    - Toxin(TBC)
    - The Lizard
    - Rhino(TBC)
    these are the villans there screen play writers are strongly considering devloping the story around.
    as always we want to keep all the fans happy.
    The actors are going through there new contracts at the present time for the next 3 movies.

    I think if I had to choose a villain (or villains) for Spiderman 4 would be Carnage. But, if we deeply think about it, it wouldn´t be THAT great, because I already saw Spiderman 3 (that came out last week), and it already has Venom in it. Carnage has a symbiote, just like Venom does. So if we are going to put an enemy who´s equal to one of Spidy 3´s enemies, it just doesn´t worth it. If we had to put an enemy, I´d put Lizard or Kraven, even Electro. But COME ON! GIVE ME A BREAK! VAMPIRES??? If they put vampires in Spiderman 4 I sware I will lose my fanatism and never see a Spiderman movie again in my life. Vampires do not have nothing to do with this movie. I expected nothing about Spiderman 3, but the truth is, I loved it. So please, please!!! Don´t make this great trilogy to fall down!! Keep it going!. Go Sam Raimi, please don´t go!.

    PD: Before I leave, I wanted to give you some of the things I heard about this last week: Tobey Maguire already said he won´t do a fourth one, and the future replacement may be Jake Gyllenhaal. I like the idea because I like the way Jake Gyllenhaal acts (but I think I´d still be preferring Tobey). Kirsten Dunst would return only if Sam Raimi does, otherwise she would be replaced by Mandy Moore. That´s all, I better go sleep now.

    I think that Morlun is a crap idea! I reckon the movies should go like this:
    SPIDERMAN 4:
    Peter and M.J. get married, Doctor connors becomes the lizard while trying to grow his arms back and goes missing for a while. Mean while aunt may gets killed in a hit and run by Kletus Cassady and while may is on her death bad Peter reveals that he is spiderman. Peter swars revenge on Cassady and trys to track him down but fails. Then Connors returns trying to turn his wife into a lizard thing because he can't take being all alone but spiderman comes in and stops him but spidey causes an accident which kills mrs.connors and the lizard swears revenge. Mean while Cassady falls in love with gwen stacy and wants gwen to take him to connors because he wants to be a lizard but the sample of the symbiote bonds with cassady and cassady kills gwen when he finds out what he has done he goes into hiding. Spidey finds a way to turn connors back back and connors has lost all memory of being the lizard. Then spidey goes back to tracking down cassady and finds him as carnage. The movie ends!

    I think that for four they should have The Lizard, bringing back Venom near the end of the film. Have Venom get arrested early into the fifth, and have the enemy in the fifth be the Hobgoblin (for those of you who caught it there is a short gilmpse of a gold goblin mask in a scene), and have Venom break out in the end leaving the Carnage symbiote behind. The sixth (and by this point hopefully final) movie should have Spider-man, Venom, Carnage, Sandman (if they hadnt dealt with him by this point), and Black Cat.

    I heard that the producers of the forth movie wouldn't consider Carnage for Spider-man 4 because the character is too dark. However I think that Carnage would be a great Villain for the forth movie, he worked well in the animated series and if its because of the potential death toll in the movie, well that wasn't an impedement in the first movie, the Green Goblin killed quite
