We finally have a new, full trailer for Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and it answers so many of the questions we’ve all had about this movie, it’s difficult to know where to start talking about it.
Let’s start with Galactus, who we recently learned will be a cloud instead of a giant freakin planet eating bi-ped. Disappointing. Well there's someone in the trailer commanding the Silver Surfer, and while he's not very cloudish, it can only either be Galactus or Dr. Doom. I'm guessing Galactus, since Doom isn't Surfer's boss last I checked. But, who knows. If it is Galactus he's kind of like a cross between Darth Maul and the black smoke monster from ‘Lost’. He isn’t even a storm front, he’s a puff of smoke wearing a robe.
That’s not the only surprise in this trailer though. Ever wondered what Johnny Storm would look like with The Thing’s powers? Me either, but now we have an answer. Been curious about how the Fantasticar will look on screen? Wondering what Surfer's voice sounds like? Crank up the volume on your computer. It’s in the trailer. Frankly, the trailer’s so packed to the gills with big money-shots that you’ve got to wonder if they’ll have anything left for the movie. Some of it’s weird, some of it’s strange, but it’s definitely the best Fantastic Four 2 trailer we’ve had so far.

You could be right about that Matt. It does look sort of like Doom's style of robe. But there is a sort of smokey thing inside the robe and if it is Doom what is he doing floating around in the clouds bossing Surfer around?
In the comics, Doom steals the surfers power cosmic at least twice, so that's probably what is happening here. For one of the best FF comic runs, check out one of the Essential collections that includes FF #s 57-60. This is the first meeting of the Surfer and Doom and is a great FF story!
I don't see anything in this preview that shows us what Galactus will look like. But it sure is a cool preview!!! Can't wait to see this one!
Thats IS Doom... we have no evidence that he "bossing" the Surfer around, only that they are together in the shots... how do we know this isnt a point in the film where the Surfer is helping the 4 and hes confronting Doom... doesnt the shot show him attacking Doom? He may look smokey, I dont know... how about this theory, Galactus is a disembodied entity (the "cloud") that comes to planets and possesses people, it he possesses Doom becuase hes so evil... so you have a Doom/Galactus hybrid thing going on...
SPOILERS** I agree that this is the best FF trailer so far. A few comments on your review, though: It is Doom getting blasted by the Surfer--at least a Doombot. The "smoke" appears to be Doom getting vaporized by the Surfer's cosmic blast. I suspect this might be the way that Doom absorbs or, using a Doombot, directs the power cosmic to a machine that will funnel the energy into his armor. This seems to follow Lee-Kirby story lines. I never wondered what Johnny would look like with Ben's powers either, but it was a highlight of the trailer anyway. A cool visual moment and funny too. And some of the best scenes in the trailer, IMO, were the shots of the rivers and oceans with the blackholes in them. It just seems to capture the look of a whole world going crazy as Galactus nears the planet. This looks like a good portrayal of the FF facing a world-threat. Lastly, liked the homage to the super skrull! I'm looking forward to this movie!!
OK! I was discussing this matter on another forum and found this preview, I guess it was shown during an episode of "Heroes". there is a shot of Saturn and we see a shadow come over it, which resembles Classis Galatus's head. Some may say "No, no,no Galactus isn't that big!"
contradiction: in the comics he is able to change size, plus He eats planets. So enjoy this clip, I prefer it a lot better than the "Cloud" ideas.
I definately hope that the Galactus=cloud thing is a rumor. Surely They wouldn't make such a drastic change in the character from the comics. I don't think they'd want to bring this much hatred to themselves.
well if u guys watched the last episode of Heros, they showed the invisible woman ( jessica alba mmmm) talkin to silver surfer... then there is a quick footage in the trailer where it shows a face and its Galactus. :)
If you had read the FF4:ROTSS novelization, you would know that when Doom meets the surfer for the first time, he tries to get him to join forces with him. They end up getting in a quarrel and the surfer vaporizes him like RickM said. Don't worry though, it doesn't kill him that early in the movie.
this is the worst movie i have ever seen.
if they want 2 create a marvel film they have 2 stay with the commic book becouse GALACTUS is a freeking cloud in this movie ???????
