The first full trailer for Astro Boy has arrived, thanks to the awkwardly formatted trailer department at MSN. Though if you count the teaser trailers, I guess this is technically trailer number three.

Count them any way you like. It’s still an animated movie about a robot with machine guns in his butt. Could be fun, I like the way it stays away from the obvious Pinocchio allegories and simply lets Astro punch things. Watch it:



Set in futuristic Metro City, Astro Boy is about a young robot with incredible powers created by a brilliant scientist named Tenma (Nicolas Cage). Powered by positive “blue” energy, Astro Boy (Freddie Highmore) is endowed with super strength, x-ray vision, unbelievable speed and the ability to fly. Look for it in theaters October 23rd, 2009.
