The cast of Denis Villeneuve's film Prisoners just keeps getting better and better. As if it weren't enough that the project has already attracted Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Melissa Leo, Paul Dano and Viola Davis, now yet another talented actress has been added to the list.

Maria Bello, who spent most of this year on television playing Detective Jane Timoney on the US version of Prime Suspect, has landed a role in the new thriller according to Deadline. The story follows an ordinary man named Keller (played by Jackman) who is driven over the edge when he discovers that his daughter and best friend have been kidnapped. When he finds that the police are unable to help, he decides to take the mission into his own hands - and goes up against a big city detective (Gyllenhaal) in the process. While details about how she'll fit into the story are absent, Bello will be playing the role of Grace, Keller's wife. The Incendies filmmaker is planning to start production on the thriller early next year and Warner Bros. has already scheduled it to be released on September 20, 2013.

Bello may have spent the bulk of her time on the small screen tis year, but that's already set to change in a big way for 2013. She has already completed work on the Adam Sandler sequel Grown-Ups 2, which Sony will have in theaters on July 12, and she is currently in production on Paul Haggis' romantic The Third Person, which also stars Mila Kunis, Liam Neeson and Olivia Wilde.
