Melanie Lynskey's Sundance Favorite Hello I Must Be Going Gets A Trailer
Hello I Must Be Going got a cushy premiere spot earlier this year at Sundance, and it was greeted with mild approval from critics. Our own Katey Rich gave the film a tacit thumbs up and raved about rising star Melanie Lynskey’s wonderful performance. Not surprisingly, it was quickly purchased and earmarked for release later this year. After a few months of keeping it in a holding pattern, Osciolloscope Pictures finally released the first official trailer today, and it’s easy to see why so many people had such a good time watching it. You can take a look at the footage below…
The film follows the recently divorced Lynskey as she moves back in with her mother (Blythe Danner) and begins dating a family friend fifteen years her junior. Through the usual pratfalls, chances and awkward middle ground, she searches for her happy ending and tries to find her own place of happiness.
Based on the limited release and subject matter, this is unlikely to be the film that turns Lynskey into a household name, but hopefully, it’s one of several that will lead her to finally finding a starring role that proves her talent on a wide scale. You can check out Hello I Must Be Going in limited release on September 27, 2012.
