Photo Gallery: Oscar Night Red Carpet Fashion![]()
Did you watch the Oscars last night just for the fashion, and are now checking Cinema Blend wondering why we're talking about speeches and snubs instead of sequins and ruching? Don't worry, we've got you covered too! None of us know a thing about fashion, but we do have red carpet photos of many of the best and worst looks of last night. From Gabourey Sidibe's dress that she described as "the money shot" of fashion to the giant roses that seemed to be copping a feel on Charlize Theron, it's all there for your scrutiny and admiration. I particularly like the weird floofy scarf that Avatar composer James Horner seemed to be wearing in honor of the Na'vi people, the gonzo craziness of Zoe Saldana's gown that was somehow also pretty, and the menswear inspired look on Meryl Streep-- you can count on these people not to make it boring, at least. Plus you've got to see the lineup of the supporting actresses, with Penelope Cruz making a priceless face that usually only shows up at the drunken parties after the awards.
Check it all out in the gallery below, and suggest your picks for best and worst in the comments. My vote for worst most certainly goes to Sarah Jessica Parker and the dress that seems to have been crafted of molten ore and leftover prom dresses retrofitted a la Pretty In Pink. As for the best, it's hard to argue with Gabourey Sidibe-- she's both convincing and stunning in that gown. |
