Robin Williams RSVPs For Wedding With Robert De Niro, Diane Keaton![]()
Awakenings reunion alert! OK, so 21 years have passed since Robin Williams and Robert De Niro shared the screen in Penny Marshall’s three-hankie mental health drama, but it’s possible the two could reunite for a wedding comedy that already has a fair share of Oscar champions.
Williams has joined The Wedding, a project once known as Gently Down the Stream, that currently boasts De Niro, Diane Keaton and Susan Sarandon in its cast. But wait! There’s more … though it isn’t necessarily an improvement. Showbiz 411 says these veterans will share the screen with Topher Grace, Amanda Seyfried and Katherine Heigl in a crowded comedy written and directed by Justin Zackham. You had me up until Heigl. IMDB says Williams will play Father Monaghan (no relation to Reverend Frank, his License to Wed preacher), who no doubt will preside over the wedding of the title. And while the inclusion of Heigl tends to diminish virtually every film on her acting resume, the pairing of such powerhouses as Keaton, De Niro, Sarandon and Williams will make The Wedding a curiosity, at the very least. |
