Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Set Video Shows Stephen Amell Without His Casey Jones Mask

Filming is currently underway on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2, also known as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Half Shell, and among the new characters who will be appearing alongside the anthropomorphic reptiles is the hockey mask-wearing vigilante Casey Jones, played by Arrow’s Stephen Amell. While we might have to wait a while to see Casey in action, a new video from the set has leaked and shows a scene involving Amell, sans mask, with Megan Fox as April O’Neil up to something in a police station. Check it out.

This footage, shot by Instagram user Blush by Niko, shows Amell’s Casey and Fox’s April walking through a security checkpoint at an NYPD precinct, with Jones carrying suspicious looking bags. The video cuts out as Amell puts the bags on the conveyor belt, so we don’t see whether or not they get red-flagged. While it’s hard to deduce much from those brief seconds, it looks like those two are on some kind of secret mission. It’s the "discreet" caps and looking in both directions that gives it away. Admittedly, Amell’s appearance is about the same as he looks on Arrow, but it’s not like we expected him to look vastly different. Aside from the mask, Casey has never been one to look like the odd man out.

Amell’s casting as the vigilante was announced back in March, and a month later we got our first look at him wearing his trademark hockey mask (as seen below). How Casey will get involved with O’Neil and the Turtles is still a mystery, but he’ll be fighting alongside them using various pieces sports equipment to deliver the pain. The original casting report also mentioned that Amell was chosen because of his chemistry with Fox, so we may also see their romantic relationship be explored in the sequel.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Casey Jones

Casey Jones is just one of the many new additions that been recruited for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2. Other new cast members include Tyler Perry as Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee as the Shredder (it’s currently unclear whether he’s playing the same Shredder from the first movie or a new individual wearing the armor), Brittany Ishibashi as Shredder’s daughter Karai, Gary Anthony Williams as Bebop, and professional wrestler Sheamus as Rocksteady, as well as Laura Linney and Judith Hoag in undisclosed roles. There is also a rumor that longtime Turtles villain Krang will make his live-action debut in the film.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 will hit theaters on June 3, 2016.
