Sure everyone is talking about the Oscars, but I’m more interested in awards where movies I like actually have a chance to win. In this case, it helps that I voted on them.
The North Texas Film Critics Association handed out it’s awards this past weekend, adding their voice to the increasingly loud chorus of local critics groups making the listing of good movies their own. Alright, everything I voted for didn’t make the NTFCA’s final list, but at least that pretentious piece of crap Babel is nowhere to be found. Take a look at what my fellow North Texas critics think is the best of 2006 below, then compare it with the Oscar nomination list here.
