The Informant is Steven Soderbergh’s expose of the corrupt agricultural industry. Apparently we’re all full of corn. It looks less like a Soderbergh movie though than it does a Coen brothers dark comedy. Matt Damon has a funny mustache and does a strange accent to play Mark Whitacre, a rising star at agri-industry giant Archer Daniels Midland who suddenly turns whistleblower. The FBI sends him to work wearing a wire and Whitacre envisions himself as a hero to the common man. Of course it all goes to his head.
