You’ve probably already written Dance Flick as yet another in a long line of completely ineffective parody flicks. However, I’m going to give it a little credit. This particular parody movie may actually have something going for it that none of the other similar movies churned out by this genre in recent years have had: It’s actually parodying the thing that it’s supposed to be parodying.

Below we have five clips from Dance Flick and all of them, actually parody dance movies. You won’t find a random Star Wars parody or a Batman parody thrown in. They’re actually attempting to make fun of dance movies and let’s face it, that’s a genre that’s had it coming for a long time. Whether their parodies will actually be funny is another matter, but at least they’re trying. That’s more than you can say for Date Movie or Superhero Movie or the others of their ilk.
