The Coen Brothers remake of True Grit is fast piling up critical acclaim. With a few weeks to go till its release, expect to see a lot more. Though the original movie version of this tale earned John Wayne an Oscar, the truth is that aside from Wayne’s performance that take on True Grit left a lot to be desired. If you’re going to remake something, why not remake something that could clearly be made better, and True Grit can definitely be done better. It looks like the Coen Brothers have done just that.

We have four new clips from the Coens’ take on True Grit. In them you’ll get a taste for the flavor of all the movie’s main characters. Mattie Ross (Hailee Steinfeld), the determined teenage girl. Rooster Cogburn (Jeff Bridges), the dedicated, one-eyed drunk and all around badass. LaBoeuf (Matt Damon), the dandy Texas Ranger. And Tom Chaney (Josh Brolin), the man they’d all like to see dead.
