The revival of 007 was a tremendous event that raked in $40.6 million. Even with that impressive sum it wasn't enough to out-gun the biggest release this weekend. James Bond may be hot, but never underestimate the power of the penguin.

Happy Feet danced and sang its way to number one after coming back from being $3 million behind Bond Friday night. Of course, that's to be expected if not predicted. Friday night is for the grown ups while Saturday is all about the kiddos. The youngsters (and no doubt a fair number of entertained grown-ups) turned out and took the penguins straight to the top with $42.3 million over the weekend.

The other big release this weekend, underpumped Let's Go To Prison made a miserable debut, failing to hit the top ten (it came in number 12) despite appearing in nearly 1500 theaters. Meanwhile the flash in the pan Horror Fest from After Dark snuck past it and jumped into tenth place with $2.5 million on 500 screens. Of course, I'm not sure it's totally fair to count it since it was actually 8 different movies shown over the course of the weekend and therefore more likely to get "repeat" viewers.

With Thanksgiving upon us the holiday season has officially arrived and with it a glut of new films, most of which open Wednesday (opening Friday would be futile since everyone will be too busy shopping). For those preferring some high paced action Denzel Washington rolls out in Deja Vu. If you're looking to get into the Christmas spirit, the winter comedy Deck The Halls will offer you something, though I wouldn't bank on much. For folks desiring comedy but ready to go to lower depths to get it will appreciate Tenacious D in: The Pick of Destiny. For those preferring some high paced action Denzel Washington rolls out in Deja Vu (wait, did I already say that?) Also, the much debated (and I fear much hated - I loved it, but I doubt most will agree) The Fountain starring Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz will open. As if four films weren't enough, Emilio Estevez directed Kennedy picture Bobby will also appear, but not until Thanksgiving day. Five films...one weekend. Expect Deja Vu to come out on top. Expect Deja Vu to...yeah, OK, nevermind.
