Wolverine Bond

The battle over who will play James Bond has been raging for quite awhile now. Last week unsubstantiated rumor was that even though Brosnan has officially ruled himself out to play James in the next film, he may in fact be in talks with Paramount again.

A couple of weeks later and the rumor winds are changing yet again. This afternoon a Roanoke radio station announced Hugh Jackman as the next James Bond. To me, that doesn’t mean a lot. Seriously, radio stations are pretty clueless about movie news. The other day I heard one announce that McG was directing Superman. But it’s a rumor I’ve heard from a couple of other places as well. In fact, CB Reporter Matt Norris, in a prepared statement earlier this evening said, “I did see a story about Jackman being the frontrunner for 007 earlier. Can't remember where.” Heavy words indeed.

For now, consider this idea an extremely shaky, unreliable rumor, but it isn’t the first time Hugh Jackman has been touted as the James Bond replacement frontrunner. Personally, I’m hoping it’s all bunk. He’s got Wolverining to do. Let’s focus Hugh.
