Trailer For Killing Bono Really Doesn't Like U2![]()
It's truly hard not to like U2. Say what you will about the band's personalities or politics, the group has simply been producing amazing music for the last 25 years. Then again, I'm also not in a rival band trying to break out at the same time.
The Daily Telegraph has posted the trailer for Killing Bono, a semi-based-on-a-true-story movie about music critic Neil McCormick who, along with his brother, tried to make it big on the Irish music scene just as U2 began blowing up. As you can probably predict, things worked out better for one band than the other. The movie stars The Chronicles of Narnia star Ben Barnes and was directed by Nick Hamm (The Hole). Check out the trailer below and join me after for discussion.
Here's the most important thing to take away from what you saw above: it looks pretty damn funny. The whole thing feels like an underdog story where you know the protagonists lose, but embraces it to the point that there's still humor in it. I also happen to be a sucker for movies based around music (This Is Spinal Tap!, High Fidelity, etc.), so don't count that out as reasoning behind me liking the trailer. But now I want to know what you think. Yay or nay? Leave your thoughts in the comments below. |
