Hugh Grant: Do You Think Less Of Him After Jon Stewart’s Comments?
By Mack Rawden 2 years ago
Last week, Jon Stewart appeared at a fundraiser in New Jersey and wound up ripping into Hugh Grant. The host was asked by his buddy Stephen Colbert who the worst guest in the history of The Daily Show was, and Stewart used the launching off point to rip the English actor up and down. Apparently, he ordered the crew around, was extremely rude and even complained about the clip from Did You Hear About The Morgans? that the network sent to advertise the movie.
After such an overt middle finger, one would have expected Grant to be a little upset, to be bothered that he was ripped up and down in such a public manner, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. In fact, it seems he’s also ashamed of what happened. Here’s what he had to say on Twitter about the incident…
"Turns out my inner crab got the better of me with TV producer in 09. Unforgivable. J Stewart correct to give me kicking. "
To be perfectly honest, when the story about Grant’s nightmarish behavior first broke, my opinion of him went down quite a bit. There have been thousands of guests on The Daily Show. To be the single worst takes a special kind of asshole behavior, but regardless of what happened, it’s actually kind of impressive that Grant backed Stewart up and admitted his awfulness. It makes me think maybe he was just having a bad day.
