Jenna Bush Hager Names Daughter Mila, Rate Her Choice

George W Bush’s daughter Jenna is a mother! The former First Daughter, who married Henry Hager a few years back and has been amped about starting her own family, welcomed in a healthy baby girl yesterday evening in New York City, and by all accounts, everyone connected to the family is over the moon. In fact, the former President released a statement this afternoon outlining his own happiness, referring to his own mood as “elated”.

Here’s a portion of the statement, as per US Weekly

"Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild, Margaret Laura 'Mila' Hager. Mila, daughter of Jenna and Henry Hager, is named for her grandmothers. She was born last night, April 13, at 8:43 p.m. in New York City."

Obviously, it’s nice to know the former President is very pleased with his new status as “grandpa”, but of course, the more interesting details of his statement have to do with the little girl’s name. Margaret and Laura have some old-fashioned flair to them, but there’s something about actually calling her “Mila” that really freshens it up and makes the handle current.

At least that’s what I think, but response to the name hasn’t exactly been uniform. There are some who think the couple could have done better. What do you think? How do you like the name Mila? Let us know your thoughts by voting in the poll below…
