The last time Charlize Theron hosted Saturday Night Live, her recent films included Reindeer Games and The Legend of Bagger Vance, with Sweet November on the horizon. She had yet to win herself an Oscar for Monster, which wouldn't release for another three years. About fourteen years after her first run on Saturday Night Live, Charlize Theron is returning to host. The episode, which airs this Saturday night, will feature musical guests The Black Keys. NBC released a series of promos to whet our appetite for Charlize Theron's grand return.

Theron's arrival at Saturday Night Live comes a few weeks ahead of the premiere of Seth MacFarlane's anticipated live action comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West. It looks like Theron found one way for Taran Killam to die...

Neck

When she isn't stunt-snapping Killam's neck, she's being stalked by a very creepy Aidy Bryant...

Aidy

What else did we learn from the promos? Well, Taran Killam can't do math very well, for one thing. And for another, as beautiful as Theron is, she really needs to work on her model faces, because these are kind of creepy...

Theron face

Because, um... this:

Theron another face

Oh, who are we kidding? She could still get on any magazine cover she wants with those faces.

Charlize Theron brought her sense of humor to these promos. Hopefully she'll bring even more to next week's episode of Saturday Night Live. Last Saturday's episode, which was hosted by The Amazing Spider-Man 2's Andrew Garfield, turned out to be one of the better episodes of the season. With just a couple of episodes left for Season 39 (Andy Samberg hosts next week's finale!), let's hope the sketch comedy series closes out this season with a bang!
