Daredevil Video Gives Fans First Good Look At The New Costume

It was just last night that it looked as if Netflix inadvertently leaked a brand new look at Daredevil’s suit. The image was pretty small, and at the time we couldn’t confirm whether or not it was real. This morning, however, Netflix jumped the gun this morning and released this awesome video revealing the red suit that our hero will eventually wear during Season 1 of Daredevil.

If you want the suit to be a surprise, obviously don’t give it a watch, below.

The brand new video shifts from Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock in a suit with bloodied knuckles to the ninja costume we’ve been seeing in promotions for several months, now. It finally rests on the new suit, and while last night’s leaked promotional poster seemed a little too shiny and red to be real, in the video the color is toned down and looks more impressive. I didn’t mind the look last night, but I like it even better this morning. Here’s a closer look.

It took a while for Netflix to even confirm that series lead Charlie Cox would even be donning the red suit in Daredevil. Early footage showed the character in a suit and tie, and later all-black attire. Just a few months ago, we learned that Daredevil would eventually don some better attire, and later Cox even explained what wearing the red suit feels like on set (hint: it’s pretty tight). It was always going to be a race to see who would be able to power through the entire first season of Daredevil to catch the elusive screenshot, so it’s probably better that Netflix officially broke the red suit early, even if it was following a leak. It does stink a little for those who were excited about the big surprise factor, however.

Daredevil is the first of a slew of Marvel programs that are heading to Netflix. It premieres on Friday at 12:01 p.m. and fans can bingewatch to their hearts content. Subsequent Marvel series include A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and a Defenders miniseries. We’ll keep you updated as more Netflix and Marvel news breaks!

In the meantime, check out our full Netflix premiere calendar.
