Glee Watch: A Night of NeglectAuthor: Melissa Duko

“League of Doom!”
Those three words would have even Optimus Prime shaking in his robot Nikes. Sue Sylvester a.k.a. General Zod helms the most terrifying legion since South Park's Super Best Friends. On her agenda: to take down New Directions with the help of Terri, Dustin a.k.a. Sergeant Handsome and Sandy. Does anyone else get the feeling that Sue is the Skeletor to Will's He-Man? Try as she might, she'll never be able to defeat Will because he has the power...of song! Bossy: Rachel’s theme song should really be Kelis’ “Bossy”. Pushing Mercedes around to fit in Sunshine’s return for the benefit concert was ignorant. Sometimes Rachel really needs to step back. Standing up for others: Santana really evolved this episode beyond the typical mean girl when she stood up for Kurt and Blaine by threatening to pummel Karofsky. I think it’s only a matter of time before she admits to everyone that she likes both circles and square pegs. Carl has left Emma which in turn has left Emma’s OCD cranked up to the max. Will steps in to soothe Emma, and how cute was it when he wore gloves to feed her a grape? Meanwhile Dustin becomes fixated on Holly and gives us a Sue Sylvester worthy smack-down with his rant about Will’s tiny baby hands being incapable of picking up a Big Mac. Will’s jealousy toward Dustin lusting after Holly leads to a tiff between Will and Holly. I predict by the season finale that Emma and Will be on their way to coupling up which I’m fine with. I personally liked the chemistry I saw between Sergeant Handsome (Dustin) and Holly more so than Will and Holly. I’m liking the character of Lauren more and more every time she gets screen time. Her playing the Ike (minus the beatings) to Mercede’s Tina, was awesome. I’m really anticipating her taking on Quinn for prom queen. It’ll be like an episode of MTV’s Made meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s musical episode. Hmmm a Glee/Buffy episode would be epic… I’m glad we got to see more of Mike Chang’s hot dance moves to the tune of Jack Johnson’s “Bubble Toes” (nice scene/play on words Glee!) The boy can dance! During the game show segment, Smarty Pants, Brittany’s random cat disease knowledge was hilarious, but by far my favorite moment was Dustin's verbal beat down of Will. • Sandy – “You just got poked. Poked by the Dagger!" • Holly - "I spent three years sending hate mail to Debbie Gibson until she wrote me back and said the stress of my letters was giving her alopecia." • Artie- “Brittany was the only person we could find on short notice. We bribed her with Dots.” • Sue - "I'm sure you're all wondering why I called you here in the dead of night when I'm usually out bowhunting for hobos." • Sue about Holly– “She's looser than a thrift store turtleneck and probably just as diseased." • Jacob - “My curly hair in Cairo twitter account helped bring down Mubarak. Technology has allowed us to be brutally cruel without suffering any consequences.” • Dustin – “Let me tell you something about Will Schuester. That guy has tiny baby hands. Seriously, it's weird. Once I saw him try and pick up a Big Mac, he couldn't do it. He had to eat it layer by layer. Teeny, tiny, wee baby hands.” • Holly – “I had giant hands so a lot of people thought I was a hermaphrodite but that wasn't true. Other people said that I was a Nazi sympathizer, that was true.” Sandy to Dustin – “You're hunky and I'm what they call predatory gay.” • Adele’s “Turning Tables” (Holly) • Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers” (Tina) • Celine Dion’s “All By Myself” (Sunshine) • Aretha Franklin’s “Ain’t No Way” (Mercedes) Next week on Glee: we get a 90-minute Gaga-centric episode! |
