The Kodak theater is home for the American Idol finals and now, for the first time ever, the Hollywood theater will serve as the venue for the two-night So You Think You Can Dance season finale.
Fox announced the news today, stating that the Season 5 finale will be taking place at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood, California. The finale’s first part, which features the final four dancers as they attempt to impress the judges and win over America’s hearts (and votes) will air on Wednesday, August 5th (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). On Thursday, August 6th, (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) the two hour results episode will cap off the season with the reveal of Season 5’s winner. Fans can also expect a number of “surprise guests” and special performances by the Top 20. Surprise guests. Could Fox be any more vague? Either they have something awesome brewing or else, they’re still finalizing deals for the finale, which is just a few weeks away.
The winner of So You Think You Can Dance will receive a cash prize of $250,000 and will be featured on the cover of the November issue of Dance Spirit magazine. Any predictions on the winner yet? As of right now, I’m torn between my crush on Evan (seriously, the guy’s adorable) and Janette’s outstanding dance abilities but in truth, all eight dancers that performed last night did well, so it’s still really anyone’s game.
