Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off with a bang thanks to shows on Disney+. This includes The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which starred Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. The latter actor became the new Cap in the process, and it was recently confirmed that Mackie would be leading the fourth Captain America movie. Now Stan has reacted to his exciting Marvel news.
Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes developed a unique friendship throughout the course of Phase Three, leading to their eventual team-up in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie will be at the top of the call sheet for the developing Captain America 4 movie, and it should be interesting to see where he takes the character next. Sebastian Stan took the time to congratulate his request co-star, posting:
Well, there you have it. It looks like Sebastian Stan is just as excited about Anthony Mackie leading the cast of Captain America 4 as the rest of us. The beloved franchise will indeed continue on the big screen, this time with a very different character wielding that signature shield.
The above image comes to us from Sebastian Stan’s personal Instagram account. After the exciting Captain America 4 news hit online, The Winter Soldier took the time to post on his story. While it’s unclear if Stan’s character Bucky will factor into this next chapter, Stan seems jazzed about Anthony Mackie getting this exciting new deal.
Marvel fans can re-watch both Sam and Bucky’s time in the MCU so far on Disney+. You can use this link to sign up for the streaming service.
Of course, it would definitely be a shocker if Sebastian Stan didn’t play a major role in the mysterious fourth Captain America movie. Stan starred in all three of the previous movies, in addition to The Avengers and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. We’ll just have to see how the development of the franchise’s next chapter ultimately plays out.
