Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off with a bang thanks to shows on Disney+. This includes The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, which starred Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie. The latter actor became the new Cap in the process, and it was recently confirmed that Mackie would be leading the fourth Captain America movie. Now Stan has reacted to his exciting Marvel news.

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes developed a unique friendship throughout the course of Phase Three, leading to their eventual team-up in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Anthony Mackie will be at the top of the call sheet for the developing Captain America 4 movie, and it should be interesting to see where he takes the character next. Sebastian Stan took the time to congratulate his request co-star, posting:

Of course, it would definitely be a shocker if Sebastian Stan didn’t play a major role in the mysterious fourth Captain America movie. Stan starred in all three of the previous movies, in addition to The Avengers and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. We’ll just have to see how the development of the franchise’s next chapter ultimately plays out.

Avengers: Endgame marked the end to many Marvel stars’ contracts, including Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. With OG Avengers like Black Widow also being written out, the time has come for Marvel’s supporting heroes to take the spotlight. And that’ll definitely happen when Anthony Mackie soars back to theaters with Captain America 4. A new Cap is in town, and this time he’s got wings.

With Black Widow in theaters, the next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings on September 3rd. In the meantime, check out the 2021 movie release dates to plan your next movie experience.
