Southland: The Complete Second, Third And Fourth Seasons Are Coming To DVD In February

While Southland’s first and second seasons have been available on DVD in the past, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment is finally putting together a set that will include Season 3 and 4 of TNT’s hit drama. On February 5, 2013 Southland: The Complete Second, Third, and Fourth seasons are coming to DVD in a box set that will include over an hour of bonus features.

Southland is one of those rare TV programs that gets cancelled by a network but is able to find another outlet to continue the story. The show started out as an NBC drama, but after being shuffled around and then cancelled by the network before Season 2 even aired, all hope for the LAPD based drama seemed to be lost. However, TNT saw potential in the show, and picked it up for Season 2, eventually creating a third and fourth season, and renewing the show for a fifth season, as well.

Fans can delve into Southland: The Complete Second, Third and Fourth Seasons just before Season 5 airs on the network. It may seem a little odd that all three seasons are being lumped together, but if you think about it, the series only creates around ten episodes each season, and Season 2 produced even less. Thus, the 6-Disc set will only feature 26 episodes for the show and will cost a fairly reasonable $59.98—which is a good deal, since the bonus features lack any sort of wow factor and seem to heavily favor Season 2.
