Walking Dead executive producer Robert Kirkman is having a really busy season. In addition to his Walking Dead duties, he also has an AMC pilot in development called Thick as Thieves. Now, he’s signed on with Fox International Channels, Skybound, and Circle of Confusion for a show based on an exorcism.

If you know anything about Kirkman beyond his TV work, you may know he’s the comic book genius behind the Walking Dead graphic novels, as well. The newest drama series added to the writer and producer’s slate will be based on an upcoming comic series that will follow possessions. According to THR, the project will follow an adult named Kyle Barnes who has been dealing with possessions since he was a kid. The untitled project is being described as “big-concept” by FIC’s executive vp of global scripted programming Said Yguado. Not only will Barnes be dealing with exorcisms and possessions, he will also learn something that could change humanity. Kirkman will pen the script.

I’m not particularly surprised someone would be interested in taking another of Kirkman’s comic series and bringing it to life on the small screen. As it stands, The Walking Dead has been crushing on AMC, pulling in more than 12 million total viewers for its midseason return episode. There’s nothing else quite like The Walking Dead airing on TV right now and, from the limited stuff we know about the drama project, if the exorcism-based idea makes it to series, it should be able to find a unique niche as well.
