Watch Dwayne Johnson On A Milk Mission In New Super Bowl XLVII TV Ad
The Milk Mustache "got milk?" Campaign is getting its first ever Super Bowl TV commercial, and they're joining the event in style with a male lead who knows his role and has taken on more than a few jabronis in his day. I am, of course, referring to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, professional wrestler and movie stare extraordinaire, who takes on the role of an action hero to save the day and get some milk in this new Super Bowl XLVII TV commercial.
Set to the soulful tune "Hold On, I'm Comin'," the ad has Johnson on a very important mission for three "ladies" in need. And it has to do with milk.
Nothing will stop the Rock from getting milk to his girls! Not even aliens, kittens (or lions), storms, or clowns. Of course, once he delivers said milk, he sets off to save the world.
Produced by Pony Show Entertainment, the video is directed by Peter Berg, who - in addition to directing the 2009 Hulu "Huluwood" ad starring Alec Baldwin - is well known and appreciated for directing Friday Night Lights (the show and the movie). But it's more likely that directing Hancock and Battleship gave him the experience he needed with the action and super-hero angle, and he's no stranger to Dwayne Johnson either, as Berg directed Johnson in The Rundown. With all of that in mind, it sounds like this ad was just waiting to happen. And it comes together nicely, with lots of action and - most importantly - it's got milk.
