Watch Kristen Wiig Dress Up As Khaleesi On The Tonight Show

Kristen Wiig’s a funny lady who is frequently up to shenanigans, and she pulled a fast one on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon this week, appearing onstage dressed not as herself, but as Khaleesi. Check out Wiig’s hilarious prank interview with Fallon, below.

You have to hand it to Wiig, here. The women’s heavy on the details. She’s got the right cut of clothing, the correct blonde wig, and even a dragon on her shoulder. Considering the popularity of Game of ThronesDaenerys Targaryan, I’m guessing it’s not too difficult to pull together such an ensemble, but it’s the effort that counts.

Wiig’s quick to state that she may be Khaleesi but she’s not Dany. Instead her name is Karen and she’s from the woods, where she lives in “a dome” that she made. As the interview moves forward, Fallon goes into the rapid-fire round, where Wiig—err Khaleesi’s—answers grow even more ridiculous. At one point, Fallon and Khaleesi can’t even contain their giggles.

”khaleesi”

The only thing that would have made this better would have been if Emilia Clarke’s Danaerys Targaryan actually showed up. But Fallon seems so shocked when Wiig sits down to chat in that get-up that the whole bit doesn’t seem to have been planned ahead of time at all, which makes it that much more amusing. (Plus getting brunette Emilia Clarke to wear that blonde wig while not at work is probably a no go. I digress.)

Because it seems like such a perfect situation for this, we’ve included a side-by-side comparison of Wiig’s Khaleesi Karen and the “real” Khaleesi, below.

”Khaleesi”

Fallon eventually manages to segue into the actual portion of the interview, which was supposed to follow Kristen Wiig talking about her new movie, Welcome To me, where she shares one thing in common with Dany: a nude scene. I guess that’s the mark of a late night host just rolling with whatever comes. You can catch new episodes of NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET.
