Clone Wars Season 2 DVD Release Only As Far, Far Away As October

Nobody honestly thought Star Wars would be all wrapped up once the prequels were done, but it is impressive just how much the franchise continues to flourish. The Force is strong in books, in comics, and in games (I know I'm not the only one whose free time will evaporate once The Old Republic is released next year). And while we're still waiting for that long-rumored live-action Star Wars series, fans young and old can still get a regular fix with the animated Clone Wars.

The second season just wrapped up this past April, and you'll be able to bring it home on Blu-ray ($59.99) and DVD ($44.98) October 26th. You'll get 22 episodes and a pretty decent array of bonus features, especially if you opt for the Blu-ray. Here's what you can expect from the season and the special features:

As the fight for peace plunges further into the galaxy, the heroic Jedi are faced with all new dangers! Never-before-seen creatures pose new threats and create further chaos during the intensifying Clone Wars. Adding to the turmoil, bounty hunter Cad Bane steals valuable Jedi secrets, a mind-controlling queen creates an indestructible army, the giant Zillo beast terrorizes Coruscant and a young Boba Fett seeks out revenge!

  • Attack of the Zillo Beast
  • Magic of the Holocron
  • Return to Geonosis
  • Creating Mandalore
  • 64-page production journal that includes early sketches, artist notes and concept art from Season Two of Star Wars: The Clone Wars
  • An extensive database exploring special-effects footage, early concept art, 3-D character and object turnarounds, and early animation. The Archives is a rare look at the assets in various stages of creation for The Clone Wars, with a wealth of surprises and never-before seen moments sprinkled throughout.
