XSeed Games recently released a new trailer for the upcoming Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns for the Nintendo 3DS, which features some popular content from Nintendo's other popular brand: Super Mario. The trailer highlights some familiar clothing items and character costumes players can use in the farming simulator.
There is themed content mirrored after Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad. There's also a Capy-san pocket plushie that will also be available for the upcoming game, but only for those who pre-order the title ahead of its release on February 28th.
As for the trailer, they reveal how you access the content and give gamers a brief teaser as to how it looks. When you go to customize your farmer in the game, you can choose their outfit, hat, and glasses. In the outfit section, they show that you can equip the classic blue and red jumpsuit that Mario wears in the Super Mario titles.
The outfit isn't just for looks, though. Once you plop on the Mario digs you'll also get a slight boost in your running abilities. The bonuses don't stop there, though.
You can also get a fishing bonus in the game when you put on the Luigi green and blue jumpsuit. The trailer reveals that you're likely to catch rare fish with the Luigi outfit.
By the middle of the trailer, they showcase the Princess Peach outfit, which grants you a bonus with becoming friends with the townsfolk much quicker. It's a social bonus through and through.
If you're finding that your stamina just isn't up to par, they reveal that the Toad outfit will give you a stamina boost.
Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns will continue the tradition of providing handheld gamers with an opportunity to play the farming simulator that used to be made by Natsume under the Harvest Moon title. XSeed Games and Marvelous Entertainment have continued on where Natsume left off using the Story of Seasons title due to copyright reasons.
The upcoming title features everything that Harvest Moon fans have grown to love from the live-your-life farming sim, including being able to make friends, exchange presents, raise animals, romance eligible bachelors and bachelorettes, as well as get married.
XSeed has been facing some stiff competition as of late in the indie sector with extremely popular titles like Stardew Valley, but they haven't taken the competition lying down. We'll see how well they can fire back when Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns launches for the Nintendo 3DS on February 28th, complete with Super Mario Bros., content.
