One of Spider-Man's oldest foes is making his way to Marvel Contest of Champions, with a brand new trailer showing off some of The Vulture's most devastating moves.
It makes sense that The Vulture would finally arrive in Marvel Contest of Champions, given his recent appearance in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Speaking of that movie, the design for Michael Keaton's version of the character is clearly the inspiration for MCoC, since he's boasting the bomber jacket and rad mechanical appendages rather than the bald head and green body suit from way back in the day. Not saying that either of those things is inherently bad, just that the OG comic's version of the character looked more like a sad old man cosplaying a pigeon than a dangerous supervillain.
While Contest of Champions launched about three years ago, constant updates to the game and the addition of new characters have kept players coming back for more. It's easily one of the best fighting games you can get on mobile and a new character launch like this helps keep it relevant in a banner year for the genre when new games like Injustice 2 and Tekken 7 are hitting the scene alongside quirky new IP like ARMS for the Nintendo Switch. So no matter where you are or what you're gaming on, it's a good time to be a fighting fan.
As for the new Vulture Spotlight trailer, we get to see a lot of the guy's moves in action. If you've seen Homecoming, then you've likely seen a lot of these attacks already as Vulture turns everything from his talons to his razor-sharp wings into weapons. He's even got a pair of gauntlets perfect for punching do-gooders like Spidey in the face and even breaks out one of those alien tech guns from the movie to lay on some real damage.
If you're wondering what folks think about either Contest of Champions or the introduction of Vulture, the comments on the trailer's official reveal page are a bad place to turn. Unfortunately, folks seem to think shouting into the ether is a good way to get things done. Marvel showed off an Infinity War trailer behind closed doors at Comic-Con this past week and, rather than offering feedback on the video that's being presented, the majority of folks are taking the opportunity to beg for a look at that movie trailer instead. Because, you know, the developers of this mobile game are going to have any say in when the general public get to look at Infinity War.
Anyway, for those of you playing Contest of Champions, we'd be interested in hearing your thoughts in the comments below. Be sure to let us know what you think of Vulture, too. But maybe keep requests for an Infinity War trailer to a minimum, yeah?
