While it would probably interest me to tease readers about which Hollywood stars would be lending their voices to the upcoming Wanted: Weapons of Fate game, I’m going to go ahead and drop the bomb: Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman’s voices won’t be appearing in the game.
Due out this March for the Xbox 360 and PS3, Wanted: Weapons of Fate will feature a “multi-layered” cover mechanic, the curving bullet thing from the movie and the ubiquitous bullet-time…aptly re-named to Assassin Time. In addition to the game’s humdrum features, voice talents such as Common, Thomas Kretschmann, Paz Vega, and Terrance Stamp will appear in the game.
I’ll be dead honest with you all, the game isn’t looking very polished. But it doesn’t mean they can’t fix a few things up by March. Mainly it’s with the animations and the shooting mechanic’s timing. I’m hoping they can fix the game up some more, because we don’t often receive Max Payne clones and it would be really nice if the genre actually received a good game. This is considering that the last decent third-person shooter, John Woo’s Stranglehold, suffered from the same problems Wanted: Weapons of Fate seem to maintain.
