Deathstroke won't just be players' enemy in Batman: Arkham Origins. Pre-ordering Origins will also give you the chance to play as the world-renowned mercenary in the open-world game.
According to the ad on Amazon, a pre-order will unlock "Playable Deathstroke DLC." It's not clear whether this is an Amazon exclusive. They're the only retailer currently listing the content, however.
Deathstroke, seen in last week's trailer, is a former soldier who volunteered to participate in an experimental surgery. This surgery gave him superhuman strength, speed and healing. He's also proficient with a wide range of ranged and melee weapons. If need be, he can also pummel opponents with martial arts.
Amazon didn't provide any other details on the DLC. It could be a set of standalone challenges starring Deathstroke, like the Robin add-on for Arkham City. I really hope it's a set of story missions, though. I'm picturing something like the Daud DLC for Dishonored that provided a new perspective on the main campaign's events. We'll have to wait for the official announcement by Warner Bros. for confirmation either way, though.
Arkham Origins is a prequel to the previous two Arkham games. Batman will face many supervillains for the first time. Deathstroke will be joined by other long-time Batman foes like the Penguin and Black Mask.
