If you're a newcomer to the BioShock series, you may soon get an opportunity to catch up on the older games without spending much money. The British Board of Film Classification is now listing a compilation called the BioShock Ultimate Rapture Edition.

The BBFC's information on the Ultimate Rapture Edition, via Eurogamer, states that it contains both BioShock and BioShock 2. All of the games' respective downloadable content is included as well. The BBFC didn't disclose a price or platform, as those details aren't really a concern for a ratings board.

BioShock's DLC was limited to a Plasmid Pack that unlocked new abilities and standalone levels called "Challenge Rooms." BioShock 2's post-launch DLC was more extensive. That game received several add-ons after launch, including a new campaign called "Minerva's Den," a "Kill 'Em Kindly" mode for multiplayer, and single-player challenges dubbed "Protector Trials."

Before you get too excited, it's worth noting that the Ultimate Rapture Edition was only listed by the BBFC so far. There's been no mention of this bundle anywhere else. It may only be released in the UK, then. Special compilations like this one aren't always available globally.

The next installment in the series, BioShock Infinite, was recently delayed to February 2013. A re-release of the first two games feels like a good way to keep BioShock on everyone's minds during the extended wait. It could potentially bring some new fans into the fold as well.
