The PS Vita exclusive Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified may be able to deliver a COD experience comparable to the consoles. However, it's going to fall short in one regard: it doesn't have any zombies.
COD: Black Ops and its upcoming sequel both feature a zombie co-op mode. In this mode, a small team of players fends off waves of attacking undead. They can then use the money they earn to buy weapons and items to help them fend off the invaders. Co-op and zombies are both pretty much cat-nip in gaming these days so it's quite a popular mode.
Activision's Dan Amrich confirmed that it won't be included in Declassified, though. He says that the team is focused on making sure that the normal competitive multiplayer is up to snuff. Declassified will feature 4-on-4 matches playable with multiple maps and modes.
The game will have something similar to a zombie mode, though. Hostiles Mode will challenge players to kill waves of enemies. However, said enemies won't be zombies so many gamers might find Hostile Modes an unappealing substitute.
It's too bad that the team at Nihilistic Software couldn't find the time to include zombies in Declassified. Perhaps they'll manage to fit it into a sequel. We'll see if there are enough PS Vita gamers willing to buy a zombie-less Declassified to justify a sequel, though.
