Electronic Arts accidentally revealed Command & Conquer 4's existence a couple times already but now they've officially announced it. Command & Conquer 4 will be released in 2010.

Command & Conquer 4 is a direct sequel to Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. There are only six years left until Tiberium, the mysterious substance that has fueled the GDI and Nod's war, will render the planet uninhabitable. The game will once and for all end the storyline that began with Command & Conquer in 1995.

The game will feature campaigns for the GDI and Nod, which can be played alone or cooperative. C&C4's multiplayer will sport a new 5v5 objective-based multiplayer mode. The press release also mentions "class-based gameplay, mobile bases, and persistent player progression through all game modes."

The PC is the only platform cited in the announcement. C&C3 made it to the Xbox 360 as well but with a few months' delay.
