After earning high praise on the PlayStation Portable platform, two of Dakko Dakko’s biggest hits will be making the jump to the PlayStation Vita this summer with updated visuals, sound and gameplay enhancements. Get ready for The HD Adventures of Rotating Octopus Character and Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims in HD.

Dakko Dakko is either the laziest or the most brilliant developer when it comes to naming their games, as everything you need to know is right there in the title. In Rotating Octopus Character, you literally control an adorable, rolling octopus character in an effort to grab tokens and avoid baddies. And in Floating Cloud God Saves the Pilgrims you control a floating cloud god as he annihilates enemies in an attempt to, you guessed it, save some pilgrims. The games are very similar to titles like Noby, Noby Boy and Katamari Damacy.

“We are delighted to be welcoming these beautiful and charming titles to PS Vita,” said SCEE’s Senior Busines Development Manager Shahid Ahmad. “The Dakko Dakko team has consistently impressed us with their creative clair and vision and we’re excited about their approach in remastering the [games] for their new home on PS Vita.”

Along with shiny new graphics and chiptune soundtracks, both games will also take advantage of their new platform with features like Trophies, leaderboards and touch controls.

“The redrawn and remastered graphics for both games look amazing on the bigger screen and the music sounds better than ever,” said producer Dan Croucher. “All in all, these will be the definitive versions of Dakko Dakko’s first two games.”

Look for both games to hit the Vita sometime this summer or visit the PlayStation website to keep track of the titles.
