Holiday Gamer Gift Guide: What To Give Your Favorite Fanboy Or Fangirl

What do you buy a gamer for the holidays? The obvious answer is games. However, if they're really hardcore, they've already bought the games they want. Fortunately there are lots of gifts that you can get for even the most well-supplied gamer. Read on for some ideas on what to get for fans of certain games.

Grand Theft Auto

Grand Theft Auto V won't be out this year but there's still plenty of presents you can lavish upon a GTA fan. Rockstar has their own online store dedicated to merchandise for their games. They recently added a bunch of GTA: Vice City 10th Anniversary swag to the store, including a Rubik's Cube, money clip and headband. If you'd prefer to get something more subtle, opt for a KIFFLOM t-shirt or Rockstar logo baseball cap. The best item by far, though, is the GTA III coffee mug with a built-in brass knuckle handle.

World of Warcraft

Like Rockstar, Blizzard has their own online storefront for merchandise. The Blizzard Store's been updated with a variety of items based on the new Mists of Pandaria expansion, including a Pearl of Pandaria comic, strategy guide and iPhone covers. The store also sells in-game mounts and pets, the most recent being the Cinder Kitten and Heart of the Aspects. Every WoW player could use more Game Time, too.

League of Legends

Instead of creating their own League of Legends merch, Riot Games has farmed the task out to other companies. J!NX sells most of the common items. Their offers range from t-shirts to posters to pillows. Razer, meanwhile sells a Naga Hex mouse that's perfect for the game due to its six programmable thumb buttons. The company also has a LoL-licensed Sphex mouse pad that can be attached to any desktop surface.

Call of Duty

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, the best-selling game of the year, was accompanied by a flood of licensed products. Turtle Beach sells four BO2-themed headsets for consoles and PC. SteelSeries has crafted the official mouse, which features custom art, customizable buttons and an "anti-sweat" finish. Shot glasses, sunglasses, water bottles and various clothing items can be found at J!NX. On the off chance that the giftee hasn't bought the Season Pass for Black Ops 2's DLC yet, you can buy it through GameStop for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Mass Effect

Razer created several Mass Effect 3-branded items for the game's launch earlier this year, including a headset, keyboard, gamepad, mouse and more. Some of the items will come with a download code for a Collector Assault Rifle on the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game. Over the course of the series, Dark Horse Comics has produced several comic books set in the same universe. Dark Horse also created a few replica ships, ranging from the $34.99 Normandy SR-2 model to the $349.99, 18-inch Reaper. Their art book provides a wealth of concept art, sketches and paintings from the game's development. If you're looking for a funnier gift, get the iWeb Conversator or Ice Cream Reaper t-shirt.
