Overstrike, Insomniac Games' first multiplatform project in over a decade, has undergone some changes. For starters, Insomniac has decided to change the shooter's title to Fuse.

The game was originally announced at E3 2011. It was said to be a four-player co-op experience. Players are offered multiple characters, each with their own differing abilities.

It's not clear how much of Overstrike's initial premise has survived its transformation into Fuse. It's also not clear why they changed the name. I'm pretty neutral on both titles, to be honest.

The first screenshot for Fuse was unveiled at PAX Prime during Insomniac founder Ted Price's keynote speech. He also pointed gamers toward a new teaser site with a countdown. The timer is set to run out on September 12th, at which time we should find out a whole lot more about the game.
