Yesterday Valve Software and Capcom announced that Resident Evil 6 and Left 4 Dead 2 will be invading each other. The first screenshots show Left 4 Dead 2 characters battling it out in Resident Evil 6.

Players will be able to take on the role of the L4D2 survivors in the "No Mercy" mode. Enemies from that game will be crossing over as well. They'll have to face off against Witches and Mini-Tanks in addition to the usual RE6 assortment of zombies and J'avo.

As part of the Left 4 Dead 2 x Resident Evil 6 project, Valve is also planning to put RE6 content in Left 4 Dead 2. Expect to face RE6 baddies like Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. Capcom is encouraging players to add the RE6 heroes to L4D2 through mods as well.

All of this bonus content is exclusive to the PC and will be free to download. Resident Evil 6 will launch on the PC on March 22nd. The new content will arrive on April 5th.

Left 4 Dead 2 has been available for several years now and is 75% off on Steam until March 18th. The RE6 DLC for L4D2 isn't dated yet, but it's expected this spring.
