No Man’s Sky has been in development since 2013, so it’s been almost three years of polishing and improving, so it’s exciting to see Hello Games finally nail down a release date, which makes the possibility of No Man’s Sky suddenly truly feel like a reality. No Man’s Sky is slated for a June 21 release date this year, this year!
If you’ve been following the development of the extremely ambitious No Man’s Sky, then you know how in-depth the game expects to be with the opportunity to explore an entire universe filled with 18 quintillion planets. Yeah, sounds out of this world, right? Check out the trailer below.
The game will be heavily focused on survival and exploration as you traverse the universe—literally, in No Man’s Sky. In the post on PlayStation blog, Hello Games talked about how they let some press in on the game, saying,
They got to see new features like how to survive on hazardous planets and how to learn alien languages, and for the first time we showed off some alien races you will be able to communicate with.
So from reading their announcement, it sounds like we’re going to get a very complicated, in-depth and highly engrossing game very much like Fallout 4 or Skyrim. If I had to predict, I’d say gamers will be consumed by the massive amount of content and lost in a whole other world—but that is what has made games unforgettable in the past. So for an indie game, that’s pretty impressive.
