Ninja Gaiden 3 has already gained a notorious reputation as an extremely difficult game. It's about to get a lot harder, though, with a new DLC pack that introduces an additional difficulty level.

Publisher Tecmo Koei recently released the third downloadable content pack for the Team Ninja-developed hack-and-slash action title. In it, a harder setting is included entitled the "Ultimate Ninja" difficulty. Described as "not for the faint of heart," the DLC is now available for free via an update. However, it'll be priced after May 24th.

Furthermore, Ninja Trials packs for the Ultimate Ninja difficulty has been released, as well as new equipment items for protagonist Ryu Hayabusa. Said content can be purchased individually or as a bundle within the 'Ninja Pack 3' for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points. Also released for free is a new mode for clan battles within the game's online multiplayer component.

The aforementioned downloadable content can be viewed in a trailer below.
