Starting today, PS3 owners can access streaming films and television shows through their console. Sony announced that the Netflix service announced last month is now live.
To use Netflix on your PS3, you'll need a $5.99 basic Netflix subscription. You'll also need to have a special Blu-ray disc in your PS3's tray. You can arrange for free delivery of this disc by going to Netflix.com/PS3. The disc will be necessary until late next year, when Sony releases a downloadable application that mimicks its function.
In case the concept of Netflix on your PS3 frightens and confuses you, Sony has also provided a short trailer showing the service in action. See? Not so scary.
