New And Recent Movies Streaming: What I’m Excited To Watch Online In April 2026

It’s officially spring, and on top of all the rain, the month of April is showering us with all kinds of new movies streaming. From heavy-hitters from the first few months of the 2026 movie schedule to some of last year’s best offerings to a variety of streaming exclusives, there’s a little something for everyone. And as someone who watches way too many movies these days, I’m terribly excited for what this month has to offer.

We’re going to see big hits like The Housemaid and Marty Supreme show up on popular platforms for the first time, new action movies like APEX finally make their debut, and so much more by the time May rolls around with all of those flowers (and even more new movies). That being said, here’s what I’m most excited to see streaming in April.

Though a lot of us use our Apple TV subscription to watch the streamer’s great shows like Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Your Friends and Neighbors, there’s also a nice library of movies. The biggest addition this month is the new Jonah Hill-directed dark comedy, Outcome, which stars Keanu Reeves as an actor being blackmailed.

A Netflix subscription gives you access to original shows like Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen and Virgin River, but let’s not forget the movies. This month, we’ll see Charlize Theron’s APEX, several additions to the Untold documentary collection, and a new shark movie called Thrash. It’s going to be a good April.

New Movies Streaming On Paramount+

I’ve gotten a lot of use out of my Paramount+ subscription over the years, and that’ll be no different this month. Though no new major releases have been announced at this time, there are some others worth checking out, including Primate, one of the most horrifying movies of the year.

Do you have an Amazon Prime subscription? If so, there are a couple of movies you’ll for sure want to check out this month. Don’t want to wait for your favorite movies (or maybe those you missed on the big screen) to hit one of your go-to streaming services? You’ll have to pay a premium for the convenience of watching a movie early (some of these titles cost $25 on Amazon), but sometimes it’s totally worth it. If you’ve been wanting to catch Send Help, Wuthering Heights, and Avatar: Fire & Ash now is your golden opportunity.

With all the major movies in theaters right now, it will only be a matter of time before we see some of the year’s biggest movies on one of these streaming services.

Philip Sledge
Content Writer

Philip grew up in Louisiana (not New Orleans) before moving to St. Louis after graduating from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. When he's not writing about movies or television, Philip can be found being chased by his three kids, telling his dogs to stop barking at the mailman, or chatting about professional wrestling to his wife. Writing gigs with school newspapers, multiple daily newspapers, and other varied job experiences led him to this point where he actually gets to write about movies, shows, wrestling, and documentaries (which is a huge win in his eyes). If the stars properly align, he will talk about For Love Of The Game being the best baseball movie of all time.
