Sledgehammer Games' First Project Is A Shooter, Apparently

Activision's new studio, Sledgehammer Games, opened up their new website today. It contains a couple clues as to the studio's first game.

On the site's Careers page (via Kotaku), Sledgehammer states they're looking for a level designer with "serious passion for Shooters, Console or PC". The ideal candidate will also possess "demonstrable experience making fun visually impressive 3d levels for a recent and successful first or third person Shooter."

Other entries fill out this mystery game a bit more. They also want to hire a Lead Online/Multiplayer Designer who has "5 years experience working on current AAA multiplayer shooters for current consoles and PC." A listing for an audio designer asks that applicants have an "understanding of PS3, X360, and Wii audio functionality and capabilities."

Sledgehammer was founded by the former heads of Visceral Games, who created Dead Space for the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC and then Dead Space Extraction for the Wii. It seems likely they'd be interested in developing multiplatform action games at their new home as well.
