The GPU requirements still get to me. They're a heck of a lot lower than I was anticipating for a game as good looking as Dark Souls 3. While most people would have assumed that anything above a GTX 5xx would seem like a standard for playing the game, it's a real revelation that anyone who wants to play the game will only need a GTX 465 as an entry card to boot up and play the game. That's extremely convenient given that the card is half a decade old. That's right, if your PC was bought within the last five years you'll likely be a-okay for meeting the minimum GPU requirements.
The RAM is a slightly different story; the game requires a minimum of 8GB. That's definitely higher than most standard PCs from five years ago. However, RAM has become so cheap these days that you can get a low-end kit for as cheap as $30 or you can get some really fast RAM at 8GB for just under $50. The RAM might be the only expensive thing required on the minimum requirement front for Dark Souls 3 considering that the CPU entry requirements are fairly low, only needing an Intel i3 2100. So once again, anything running an i5 or an i7 will keep you set for playing the game. Laptop owners might have a bit more of a problem since they're more than likely to house an i3 over a standard desktop rig.
The one thing that actually got to most gamers when it came to the system specs was the hard drive space requirement. If you aren't already rocking a terabyte system, you may find yourself rearranging content on your hard drive as if you're playing disk space Tetris. The game needs a standard of 50GB. That's a pretty steep installment requirement; but 50GB through 60GB is fast becoming the standard for a lot of large scale adventure titles and open-world games.
Dark Souls 3 is scheduled to launch for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC worldwide March 2016. The good part about the home consoles is that the only thing you have to worry about is disc space.
