The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition had a special limited Dark Edition, featuring extra goodies, collectibles and accessories. Well, CD Projekt Red announced today that the limited Dark Edition of The Witcher 2 for the Xbox 360 has sold out in both Europe and North America.
Micha? Nowakowski, member of CD Projekt RED’s board commented in the press release, saying...
“It’s great news for us, that the Dark Edition was such a success worldwide. I hope players will appreciate the gadgets we prepared for them. We’d like to remind you that there are still remaining copies of The Enhanced Edition of The Witcher 2. By buying this version of the game you still get more, than you would expect from a standard Xbox game. Apart from the manual and the game itself it contains an official soundtrack CD, a quest handbook and a world map.”
The idea behind the limited edition version of The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition was to offer gamers classic collector items that used to come with games back in the day. Instead of promotional DLC CD Projekt wanted to reward gamers with something a bit more nostalgic. I completely concur with their decision.
The game itself is already primed to move fairly big numbers on the Xbox 360 when it releases on April 17th, and the company recently released a spoiler-heavy video to completely recap the first game so that newcomers have an idea of what they're getting into. You can check it out below.
The Witcher 2: Enhanced Edition for the Xbox 360 sports new cinematics, new quests, new areas to explore, a revamped control scheme for consoles, new items, and brand new sub-branching endings so you'll at least feel that one ending or another will bring closure to the story unlike a certain other RPG. CD Projekt Red will stream a conference on April 5th to reveal additional info and details about the game, or you can learn more by paying a visit to the game's Official Website.
