Warner Brothers has started the ball rolling on sequels to both Batman Begins and Superman Returns, three months before one of the movies is due for release.
The Big WB has already hired Jonah Nolan, Christopher's brother, to start work on a script for a second Batman movie and is eyeing up both Nolan and Singer to return to their respective director's chairs though no deal has yet been struck. Also both Christian Bale and Brandon Routh are already under option to return for a sequel if and when their projects begin.
Christopher Nolan and David Goyer have already penned a treatment for a sequel but it is unclear at this stage if this is what Nolan's brother will be working from for the script. As for Singer, how any Superman sequel would pan out is still unclear as Logan's Run is due to start production in the fall and Singer is also planning to direct The Mayor of Castro Street some time in the future.
