Amber Heard Joins Kevin Costner In Three Days To Kill

Amber Heard is preparing to give Kevin Costner an offer he can’t refuse. The young actress is now in final negotiations to star in Three Days to Kill, the new secret service action film set to be directed by McG (This Means War).

Based on a script written by Luc Besson and Adi Hasak, the movie centers on a sick agent (Costner) who is planning to end his career so that he can spend the last few months of his life with his family. His options broaden, however, when he is given the chance to take an experimental cure for his condition…but only if he goes on one final mission. And not only must he choose between work and family, the medicine has some pretty intense side-effects.

Variety, which broke the casting story, says that Heard will be playing the woman who presents Costner with the option to take the cure. She is the second actress to take a part in the new film, as True Grit’s Hailee Steinfeld signed on to play Costner’s daughter late last month. The trade doesn’t say when they are planning to start production.

After a double feature last year, starring in both Drive Angry with Nicolas Cage and The Rum Diary with Johnny Depp, Heard has had a rather slow 2012 – but she’s turning it around in 2013. She’s wrapped on both Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills and Robert Luketic’s Paranoia, and also has a part in Aram Rappaport’s Syrup.
