While the first trailer for Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises was insanely epic and featured some great looks at both Bane (played by Tom Hardy) and Selena Kyle (Anne Hathaway), there was one important character that didn't really get much screentime: Batman himself. Sure, Bruce Wayne had his fair share of moments, from walking with the cane to inquiring about the chanting, but the shots of the character actually wearing the suit were very limited. Seriously, go to our screenshot gallery from the preview and tell us how many of the 66 images he actually show up in. Fortunately it would seem that the folks over at EW know who the real star of the show is and have put him on the cover of their next issue.

Check out the cover below and head over there to read more about what their 2012 preview has in store.

You may notice that Batman's armor seems to be exactly the same as it was in The Dark Knight. Not only do I love this because it strips away the commercialism (new costume means new toys!), but it also fits in perfectly with Nolan's view of a realistic Batman universe. Bruce Wayne and Lucius Fox basically perfected the Batman suit in the last movie, so why would he make a new one?

The finale of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Juno Temple and Josh Pence. The movie will arrive in theaters on July 20th (NOT SOON ENOUGH) and to see more from the film you can head over to our Blend Film Database.
